If you are dropping the hammer and saying it was all IC no matter what, then there is no more argument.

I say that, because the two main players involved in the situation (Fionn and myself) both are confused and unsure of what exactly happened and if information was or was not stated that would have actually sparked the conflict -- in other words, if it was IC or OOC. If that isn't important and we're just playing it as it is, then I think that's what everyone needs confirmation on.

I was there listening to the whole conversation between the Thayan,Fionn, and afterwards Fionn and yourself. IC your character was definitely on the edge and enraged. Your PC wasn't taking anything Fionn's PC was saying to try and convince her that it was a ruse. I wasn't encouraging CVC, but it was leading there. I got the part about subdual with the blade, and maybe even the arrows (I doubt that was subdual). But what is important is that there were witnesses who saw violence (even subdual damage). Two witnesses had a clear view of the PC shooting arrows. One was a Thayan (!).

But the report was made to the Watch, so now their job is to investigate.

You played your character very well, you got good XP points, now you have to figure out where to from here. I am on a couple nights this week, but unfortunately not the weekend.

I still think it can be resolved, you still have a common goal, you still have allies.

Marisha is attempting to find out both [all] sides of the story and put it all together so she can perhaps arbitrate between the parties.

She has spoken so far only to Ge'ish and while she believes what has been said she has also noticed that alot seems to be NOT said . Perhaps due to the blow that Ge'ish received.

She will be seeking out the other parties involved soon (( as RL allows))

Aha - I thought Ai had been talking to Twilight about this when I walked up. Sounds like she just jumped in, then out of our convo without much involvement. I think we both read far more into the Gnome's actions than was warranted

It occurred to me overnight I may have also been talking to the Thayan /P. It was intended to be *q* as had our convo near them earlier, but I may have left that off a few. For the future, did we have specific RP guidelines for CvC stealth? It's a rather OP mechanic in a well lit Inn

I never noticed a *q from your PC, and I was looking for it. The Thayan was not speaking quietly, he is an arrogant SOB and dumb guard. If I had noticed you were whispering I would have made Magile do listen checks, but she was pretty near around the corner from you guys.

Obviously much of this will play out IC, but I will chime in here just because.

Twilight came up while Ai and Ge'ish were already midconversation and they were speaking in elvish. They switched to common and the discussion almost immediately turned to Thayans and Ai very quickly began discussing Ge'ish selling them children and her friends to them. Her statement of "Ai, she is all yours" was more of a washing of her hands of the manner. She and Ai had no discussion of the matter before that scene unfolded. Twilight was very upset that apparently Tragnar and Twilight's names were out in the wind....somehow.

She felt the need to get away and unload some [redacted] for self-preservation, which is where she went immediately. She felt the need to do so because she got the impression that Ge'ish offered up Tragnar and Twilight to the Thayans. Right or wrong, that was (is) her impression.

Of course, Twilight was more inclined to accept that impression for IC reasons that have yet to reveal themselves. Twilight has not manipulated anything in this. We can work all of that out IC.

Anyway, there is already too much meta in this thread, but wanted to just make it clear that this is all IC bidness, misunderstanding or no.

This is the last thing I'm saying in this thread.

Races of the Wild (3.5e), pg. 165.
Blunt Arrows with an addendum stating: "This weapon does nonlethal damage rather than lethal damage".

My very first post, which is now gone, used blunt arrows as an example as being able to do sub-dual damage with a ranged weapon. The rules are there, and the point of sub-dual is to be nonlethal. We have RP spells, we can RP that the arrows used were blunt arrows from this point forward when the next case comes around.

In other words, much to the chagrin of some people mentioning how blowing fire out of their arse is more likely than sub-dual damage from a bow, it is possible and it is backed by the rules.
