It looks like I'll be back some time after the holidays
I am talking to two of my friends who played here about a decade ago on TSM when Duck_One was running weekly campaigns about coming back.(skbieber and gaia_nostra).
The reasons to pick WD are:
1) Ayergo - my first DM.
2) It looks like there are regular Friday sessions and that is what we are looking for: a once a week regular session on a night where we don't have to work the next day.
It is going to take me a while to figure what I am doing with the interface. I expect to log in and promptly have Grand Fromage call me the njubest of n00bs.
Question about skbieber and gaia_nostra: what if they do not remember their passwords to the site? They have not been on in forever ... in fact neither of them has a single post on the boards. Now, they were never prolific posters by any means, but they did make a few of them. So, is there a way to revive old accounts? Will they have to re-apply even if someone of my (ill) repute vouches for them?
BTW, I can't find my DnD books or my Faerun books, so I will be really ignorant, even more than before. I guess everything is online though.

My account is fine. I don't have any old PCs in the vault, but I can access everything without issue.

oh holy jesus wild_wombat too? and a Rotku sighting the other day? *rubs eyes*
I nomiate WD as the alfa Resurrection server of the century. Without for even a second redacting or belittling in any way the continued thanks Arriana deserves for her relentless and diligent continued work and DMing on MS and TSM - that always goes without saying.
Good to see you WW. cheers

Woo! That's awesome news! Would be great to have a group start together, it makes it easier.
Also I think it will fit in well timing wise with the plot. Welcome!

Re: It looks like I'll be back some time after the holidays
Okay, it looks like WW, Gaia_Nostra and skbieber will be officially debuting their PCs on *Friday, January 4th at 7:30 PM US East Coast time (AKA January 5th at 12:30 AM UTC). The fact that there is a regular Friday session on WD was a sign: the three of us decided to start up again and Fridays were by far the best day.
I actually intend to try to RP a different PC (or if nobody is around just explore like Gaia has been doing) to re-familiarize myself with the "controls". Playing the solo game was never my thing, so I'd much rather do it in-game. I need the practice!
Looking forward to this.

*Last I heard, skbieber was still trying to get together with FoamBats4All on Discord to get his account unlocked, so I am assuming that will be taken care of by this time next week.

Re: It looks like I'll be back some time after the holidays
Now I am not so sure that we will be on this Friday.
skbieber has been trying to get his password reset for about a week now and has not been able to (not a good time of year to be doing that sort of thing, obviously.) Hoping that a two pronged attack works, he just re-applied to ALFA, indicating that he played previously as skbieber, but I don't see why that would go any quicker than a password re-set.
Without getting skbieber re-instated, I'm not sure what other options there are.

Well he can still log into the server to play without an ALFA password. I remember him so it should be all good, he just won't have forum access.Wild Wombat wrote:Now I am not so sure that we will be on this Friday.

Are you guys on this Friday? I think ideally I'd like to catch you guys early for some level 1 fun while the others are scheming. Show up early if possible and I'll get you guys rolling quickly!

Re: It looks like I'll be back some time after the holidays
We will be on at 7:30 PM EST this Friday (apologies for not knowing what time that is for you, Ayergo ... but with all the traveling you seem to do, perhaps you are frequently confused about what your time is as well!)
I know that Gaia and I will be on. I am assuming that skbieber will be on, but am awaiting confirmation that he has tested his connection.
Speaking of which, I will be sending you a Bio via PM for my PC straight away (the reason I logged in in the first place). Gaia may already have sent you a bio already. skbieber* will be sending me a bio that I will send along to you.
*skbieber will hereafter be referred to as Ken, this "sk" stuff is just odd for me.

Sweet! Bangkok time is actually 12 hours ahead, so conversion is easy. Re: It looks like I'll be back some time after the holidays
Thanks for the re-intro everybody. I had a lot of fun.
Besides some frustration with the UI, the hardest thing for me was trying to have Murgen consistently speak with the accent I want him to have! Hopefully, I'll get better at it ... or perhaps Murgen will assimilate into WD society so quickly that he will sound like a native.
