In the quiet of the morning

A man dressed like a begger sneaks up the shores of the black river. He looks around
to make sure none are watching and then casts a cantrip. With his spell he looms over
the dark waters doing who knows what. After his task is complete he sneaks away into
the darkness.

Out of Game: I used mage hand to collect some water from the river at the bridge. Not sure if I needed DM intervention. Here is a screen shot to prove what I did.

Why would you need DM help to collect river water?

Canon: During the Time of Troubles in 1358 DR, Cyric and Bhaal fought a battle on the bridge. The resulting destruction of Bhaal poisoned the water in the vicinity of the bridge and further downstream.

((ALFA? Dunno. Guess NPCs know they can drink from water a few feet "upstream" of the bridge, but they're dead meat or risking curses etc. using water from even a few feet "downstream"... Bhaal pee'd the pool.))
