Re: Tavern Tales & Rumours
-- Rummors abound that Corwell was cloaked in an unnatural darkness one night. That a woman's child was murdered, that shadow like figures walked around the city though the streets as if searching for something and a silence fell over the city. The guard have gone on high alert and, like it's neighbors Koart and Kingsbay, Corwell now too closes it's gates at night turnning away travelers unfortunate enough to be caught outside the gates at night. --

Another northen raid party hit Gwynneth with force
nearly destoring Cantrev Horstall.
The raiders are said to kill many, pillage
and take with them women men and children.
before rushing back to thier ships.
The wounded Cantrev is licking its wounds.
No aid was sent from the Kingsbay guard.
A few villiagers who survived the attack tell a group of scavangers
came in the aftermath battle and took whatever there was to be had
from the bodies of the dead village folk and attackers alike.

Undead on the King's Road!
Deadly and leathal the creatures have slain half a dozen armored men.
Parties are gathered in Kingsbay and Koart to deal with the creatures.
A mage trying to sneak past to Kingsbay mumbeling about getting to the council
in Calidyrr never made it.
Travelers are adviced to avoid to road or move in large numbers.

Re: Tavern Tales & Rumours
A man clad in black passed through Koart, unwilling to heed the warning of the locals about the undead on the road. he headed out towards Kingsbay, assuering the men he can deal with whatever threat he will face.
The men in owe of the man's actions fell silent.
A few minute later said man was seen runing back to town screaming,
his cloak scorched and some swear a drizzle of pee in his pants.
The undead proved to much even for the brave traveler in black.

Rumors of coming war beging to work their way through the isles. Now many ffolk have heard of the raids by northmen on a number of outer Cantrevs. Concerns of a full scale invasion forthcoming begin to grow.

Out on the Isle of Craftenor, a tribe of ogres were said to be defeated. Near to a dozen heads of the brutes were carried down from the highlands, dragged in a great bloody berlap sack by a priest of Tempus and a fierce looking northlander woman. The pair is said to have claimed a sizable bounty for their efforts.
Few if any locals paid much mind to their hafling travelling companion who smoked quietly in the back of the tavern, enjoying fine ales, meats and cheeses.

Re: Tavern Tales & Rumours
- A difficult night passed in Corwell. On a night with no moon to speek of the figures came in force from all directions. Its said that they seemed to walk with purpose passing though the walls of homes all heading towards the temple of Tyr. The temple it's self was nearly burned to the ground but some quick work by the priests there and with the aid of three brave guards, two of which lost their lives along with a half dozen acolytes, no serious damage was done. No one is certain what the attack was about but it seems that the attacks in Corwell by the dark figures have come to a halt. Reports slowly begin to ebb in this town while in Cavtrev Koart and Kingsbay there are still reports of unusual activity --

Re: Tavern Tales & Rumours
It was reported by the Corwell Guard that Trapper Wind (owner of Trapper's Hold), her mother, their waitress, her son Windsun, and Dedrik a local musician were seen running through the town. Waving utensils and farm implements they seemed to be chasing a flying infant, surrounded by silver fire.
The baby was calmly hovering 15 feet from the ground and heading out to sea. This caused great consternation and wailing of the ladies until Dedrik tied a fisherman's fishing net to two poles and netted it from sky.
The unharmed baby was returned to it's guardian who was overheard scolding her son. She promised the guard she would weight the child down from now and make sure she is tethered. People are now flocking to see the girl infant though Annie and Trapper are discouraging it as they do for her son.

-- On a related note, A long time resident family, the Bellbottoms are moving out of Corwell and making quite the stink about it. They packed up their things and their home is on the market now. The sons of the family have been going around telling others they should leave as well. Things they claim are "Just too Screwed Up around here to stay and they have had Enough off it all" --

Re: Tavern Tales & Rumours
-- Dignitaries can be heard of traveling to Cantrev Koart dressed in outlandish robes of nobility that to anyone would seem antiquated if not entirely alien. Their long robes favor dark blues, purples, and reds, along with black and grays. Silver and gold threads along with ebony jewelry adorning them. Lord Koart has yet to comment why they have arrived there or where they come from but it is clear he is stepping very carefully around the strange diplomats from an unknown land --

Re: Tavern Tales & Rumours
-- LORD KOART HAS BEEN ABDUCTED! The cantrev is in a panic. Sargent Blacks, previously acting Captain, is now acting Lord until the real one can be found! Apparently a young woman's name is being hissed in her involvement. A woman by the name of Zerah Colds has been arrested and is in their custody. Shadows have been seen again around the town and the lock down is over now. Travelers free to pass though. The dignitaries no where to be seen though rumor has it they were holding the lord captive in his own town hall and now tourcher him in some perverted search for power. Again the woman named Zerah Colds is held to blame, and her companions Arbithoreh and a Knight by the name of Aiden banished from the town as witches! --

-- Zerah Colds has escaped custody and killed over five guards on her way out of Cantrav Koart. There is no trace of her to be seen and a manhunt has begun. A reward of two thousand gold has been offered for her capture or information that leads to her arrest. The people of Cantrev Koart begin to wonder if Sargent Blacks is the man for the job? --

Winter's unrelenting bite
Farmers in the bountiful lands between Corwell and Koart are doing their preparations for spring planting under an unusual cold spell. Songs of birds, usually a stalwart harbringer of the spring, are sparse to hear. Unusual numbers of druids have been seen criss-crossing the area, and farmers are saying they are worried. Some say the unnatural chill is tied to sightings of menacing undead shadows. Others speak rumors of animal-like trails in the woodlands that are frozen over with slowly thawing ice. As if the winter herself is galloping in the woods.
