Well, friends. It's been a long, long run.
My first PC got killed by a deer on Shadowdale within 15 minutes of creation while walking to the Embergreen farm in 2005. (Oh Amelor, we hardly knew ye.)
From there it was on to The Long Road and Waterdeep for a few years of fantastic adventure and faction fun.
Then it was nearly decade on the NWN2 platform.
I played a dozen or so PCs over the course of my ALFA career. Malcer Angalstrand, Rathalan Whitsword, and Hully Tosscobble will be the ones I remember best. I played nearly every day for most of 12 years. I wouldn't be surprised if I had logged the most hours in game over that span.
I've made some great friends through this community....too many to list here. I've had a wonderful time.
I really do love this place.
But at least for now it's time to hang it up. I don't want to say goodbye forever. I'm sure I'll lurk and even post on occasion. And should some next platform present itself so that we can once again find a critical mass of like-minded RP D&D gamers to breathe fresh life into this community, there's a good chance I'll be there.
But for now I am going to take my leave.
Thanks for everything, ALFA!
love, dergon
