I got a message saying that my intentions in this post wasn't clear enough and that I should go ahead and make a post about my intentions.
Since Heero is stepping down as HDM of WHL, I am stepping up and offer my services as the new HDM on WHL.
Why do you want to be HDM of WHL
Because I want to help create a great server. What I want to focus on is:
Inspiring environment for both players and DMs
Character-driven server development
Intrigue/Adventure storytelling
Upholding the quality of ALFA servers
Are you planning on doing this alone?
Not at all. I have a team ready to join the already existing DMs which consists of:
Four new DMs
One main builder and two assistant builders
One very experienced scripter
Dedicated 100/100mb hosting
I welcome a discussion around this and gladly debate with other candidates.

My hopes is that all existing DMs on WHL want to stay on as DMs. As for the size of the european player base, well, I don't really see that as a reason not to have willing DMs. A DM might not have the stamina to run something every day, so I personally would appreciate help pulling the DM-weight. And who knows what will happen with the playerbase in the future? It might grow, it might decrease.

j/k. I'd support Boom giving it a whirl, though I also like the idea of BG and WHL running on two separate servers/modules under one HDM/DM team if it means better player density.

After much cajoling by the DMA, HDM Heero has agreed to stay on in his current position. Boombrakh and his team of former DMs, after they submit their requests for reinstatement to the DM positions and are approved, will be invited to WHL to demonstrate what they can do for the community. WHL will remain an independent server for now.
I applaud all involved for their hard work and willingness to sacrifice their personal time for the good of ALFA. Thank you all.

First of all, I would like to congratulate Heero and welcome him once again into the fold. I know you really don't want to do this and I applaud you making the personal sacrifice that you do in order to maintain WHL.
Secondly, I will recommend my "team of former DMs" to submit their requests for reinstatement as DMs.

I would like to see the Swedes have the server on a trial basis. If they come through, great! If not, its highly unlikely any harm would be done. Don't actually switch hosts unless they end up keeping it; thats a pain in the pass to do.
I don't see what we would have to lose. Boom has brought good people into the project on multiple occasions, even if his own bark is louder than his bite
The trick is WHL needs to continue to evolve at a timely pace. MS started out as a rough shell of what it is today, but through Castano and all us DMS efforts (as well as the tech team and Paazin/Curm helping & sharing) it still needs work but one can say it is beyond complete in most respects.
It took us over a year of constant updates and additions every few days to get it playable and viable for people stay there long term in a "persistent world" sense.
So WHL needs to have those constant timely upgrades such as adding more towns and cities, map points on the travel map, and simply a way for people to travel confidently through the woodlands if it is going to be a server that is more than an extension of BG.
