Returning to ALFA and NWN2 - Which server for euro time?

Post by Iarwain »

I'm staring to get the rp-itch again. So I'm considering trying ALFA and NWN2. Haven't played here since NWN1.

So problem 1: Where to get the game?
This looks like a pretty good deal:

Problem 2: Where is the euro action?
Looks like Tuesday evenings are the best for me. Which server has any action at that time?

A wild Moonshade appears! But where is Willow?

That is actually a pretty decent price. Grab it while you can!

As for euro action...not really sure. We do have a good selection of euros, but I am not sure about their organization.

Being reminded of playing Moonshade on NC with Willow and all you other guys sure brings back some good memories :D
We've both been quite preoccupied lately. Got a 2.5 years old son. So time surely slips by fast!

Tuesdays are music band rehearsal for Willow - that's why it might be free for me :)
The little spare time we actually have together will most likely be spent in front of the telly watching our favorite series.

This should do the trick, and I think someone told me that the files included all of the updates that you'd normally have to download too.

euro times are a little up and down but generally if the other euros doesnt show there usually a few insomniac americans/oceanians in the mornings befor noon or late:ish in the evenings.

maybe we should have a genereal euroTZ thread or something like those australian dudes have, just to be able to organize stuff at comfortable times?

Always a good idea to organize playtimes, helps DMs to know when they can show up find victims as well. :)

Make sure you buy the ABSOLUTE newest version of NWN2. Otherwise you will be stuck downloading the entire update pack and installing manually.

So I've managed to get the game running.
Currently kicking around Moonshaes (open server) just to get a feel for it again.

But he big question is which server has the best potential for euro action?
Preferably Tuesday evenings.
Preferably other low lvl toons and dm.
Can live with tagging along with high level toons.
Can live without a dm.
Can try doing statics for a while, if no other options are available.

Could anyone please point me in the right direction?

I'm look at Tuesdays around 8pm GMT+1.
Haven't created a toon yet, and can create whatever suits those of you who'd like to play.

I almost always see a couple of people logged into TSM and/or BG during the evenings (UK time), I don't often see any DMs on tho. MS had a DM'd euro group playing not so long ago and I believe that's due for a DM-led revival once the MS server comes off OA. That group does have at least a couple of medium to higher level characters in it (and at least one Hin!), not that that should be any reason not to join in. There should be a thread in one of the MS sub-forums.

Player wise, likely TSM right now, or BG when it will be back up.
Iarwain wrote: Preferably other low lvl toons and dm.
TSM and BG, though a campaign is starting in for lower levels in WHL soon - but it's mostly off your timezone and players presence there is pretty thin now.
Iarwain wrote: Can live with tagging along with high level toons.
BG is the server where most high level chars spend their time.
Iarwain wrote: Can live without a dm.
Well, i often DM in TSM around euro night times (gmt +2)

Iarwain wrote: Can try doing statics for a while, if no other options are available.
TSM and BG are rich in statics.
Iarwain wrote: Could anyone please point me in the right direction?
TSM or BG, better start in TSM - it's really a good start for most characters, has some static content to do during the first levels, even if there is no one online.

Thanks rorax.

Looks like TSM is a good choice then.
Really don't like to play on the evil side, so I guess the Banite is out.

I'll drop a post in the TSM forum later.
