A call for Regular session DM's

Post by Rumple C »

Hi folks,

We are working on getting more DM's into regular slots wether it is weekly, fortnightly, or monthly.

I know that Ronan and Thangorn both run events weekly, but i would like to get expressions of interest from current and potential DM's on running something regular so we can see where we stand on this.

So... if you think you can run something regular either now or in the new year please post here with the following sort of information

Name
Servers (Current, or where you would like to DM)
Aproximate times/days you may run something (and frequency)
Would you be willing to DM one of our fine player groups?
Ideal player types to DM? (levels? races? alignements? classes?)
Any other info you think relevent.

Please note, its just an expression of interest - we are *NOT going to hold you to it. What it does allow is hopefuly is a future match making service between DMs and PCs.

Thanks!

Did you mean to type 'we are NOT going to hold you to it' ?
Formerly: Aglaril Shaelara, Faerun's unlikeliest Bladesinger
Current main: Ky - something

Yes, though S.Frued? would read much into that typo.

Rumple
MS (hopefuly) and TSM
Weekends either AM or PM est time
Prefer a new group of njubs
Prefer low level pleayers for a weekly long term campaign, any races/alignments are fine.
I plean on running a long term campaign for players with low level pcs. (like 1-3) at start. I promise intrigue and exciting made for event areas and monsters and a chance for every PC to shine. Oh, and character development as well as a chance to do cross border stuff to TSM (and maybe BG as well if i can find a helpful dm there)
To be started in the new year in Mid/Late Jan.

I have been tempted to step up, however I want to prove to myself I can make a regular playing session first, so I know I'll be able to commit to DMing long term. So for a couple of months down the track:

Name : Take a guess
Servers (Current, or where you would like to DM) : Who ever will have me - no real preferences, as long as there are players
Aproximate times/days you may run something (and frequency) : TBC
Would you be willing to DM one of our fine player groups? : Maybe...
Ideal player types to DM? (levels? races? alignements? classes?) : Players who aren't there purely for combat. I tend to try and focus on story heavy.
Any other info you think relevent : Ummm...

*Post on behalf of, and with permission of Spider Jones

Servers : BG
Aproximate times/days you may run something :

Thursday, [UTC -5:00; US East] from about 9:30 PM or 10:00 PM until around 1:00 or 2:00 AM
Friday mornings /afternoons for follow ups/general DMing.

Would you be willing to DM one of our fine player groups : ?
Ideal player types to DM? : I prefer to torment n00bling PCs, but won't mind entertaining groups composed otherwise.
Any other info you think relevent :

I am also currently working on building projects for the server, and need a little set up time before I get started, so count on December 27th as my first official Thursday time slot.

I may log on other times (more often in the morning/early afternoon my timezone), and plan on floating about in #alfa-players on IRC if anyone needs to get in contact with a DM for a fix/help with some business.

I am willing to log on at other times if someone/some group would like to pre-arrange a time with me.

Crossposting, as per request:

Is there also a matchmaking for players to join these groups too, perchance? Stuff like timezones, settings, and what kind of PC is looked for / would fit.

I am hoping I could pick up DMing on Euro evenings, one day a week, starting February. Probably on BG. Some way to go still, but there's my playdate ad ;)

Name - Daniel M Noah (Avatar DanielDMin, forum name Danielmn)
Servers - Western Heartlands
Approximate times/days you may run something - Saturdays, am-pm est.
Would you be willing to DM one of our fine player groups? - No (I do better in individual or small group character dming and building)
Ideal player types to DM? (levels? races? alignments? classes?) - Levels 1-7; any alignment or class
Any other info you think relevant - I keep a close eye on pc's as to their strengths and weaknesses, and form quests usually around strengths (meaning I am not sending a social build into a huge combat scenario). I am a bit peculiar in my dming (Things such as low light and dark vision I take into account, so humans be prepared with the torches..no, the full moon isn't out every single time we play; I will go beyond what the engine allows as far as different things, for example traps, so be prepared to think outside of the engine)

<danielmn>: Yes,

Name: Gonz.0
Servers: WHL

Will update later with times, as soon as I know when I can consistantly be able to run. Initial feeling is low level characters for plot work. Though for character generated plots, I am willing to work with any level. Still at PDM status, so experience will not be monumental (CR3 limitation).

Starting Mid to late January, I expect to start a plot line on a regular night, just need to figure out when will not cause conflict with my own play time. ((Yes, I actually prefer to play))

FURTHER INFO - I am NEW at the tools, and somewhat new to 3.5, I used to dm pnp in 2nd ED. Be kind and courteous. I expect to be wrong on the rules from time to time, and I would prefer a player ask for a pause and pm/tell me when I'm wrong so it can be discussed, and if needed, adjusted so we can all learn and have fun. I will not engage in OOC conversation in the middle of a DM session, and will remove from the dm session anyone who insists on trolling the DM during. I also feel that actively chatting on IRC while RPing in game, is grounds for reduction of XP.
You are warned.
