Poll on Keeping 1 pc rule

Post by Rumple C »

Hi,

Please take the time to register your view on keeping the 1 PC rule. Poll will run for 7 days. If you support multiple PCs please take the time to read this thread ( http://www.alandfaraway.org/phpBB3/view ... =3&t=48754 ) and post any ideas you may have on how you think multi PC's should be implemented.

Also, please note that MS is now in Open Season for the next month, so log in and have some low level njub fun with your friends (and potential friends).

*Edit - 1 PC rule is that you may only have 1 active PC at a time.

I can agree to do away with the one PC rule in principle, but it depends on the details of what's actually being voted on.

  • Currently NWN1 ALFA: Ryld Ky'bler
Currently NWN2: Gwindor Faelivrin, still not actually dead!

Formerly: Timyin Tim, Glorfindel Inglorion and Beleg Thalionestel amongst others.

It's not a vote as such, its more of an opinion poll so the Admin have some numbers to think about, instead of long threads with a handful of members talking. The alternative to the "1 pc rule" would be either "No pc rule" (which wouldn't work) or Multiple pc rule (there seems to be broadest anecdotal support for a 2-pc solution). But again, at this stage this is just an opinion poll, nothing more.

I voted against. However as it appears I am losing I would like to now change my vote to the winning team.

Now let's have a vote on starting level.

We have sixty votes. Do we really have sixty active players?

Hopefully, changing the 1 PC rule will bring some of them to actively play again.

How?

"I don't enjoy playing in ALFA, but boy, if I could play it with two characters, suddenly everything that keeps me from playing one character would be invalid!"

The notion that we're somehow going to gain members has not been backed up with a scrap of even a credible theory - whereas it's quite likely that we might alienate or even push away those players that, y'know, signed up to play ALFA because it's ALFA.

Wishful thinking ain't helping player numbers - the best we can achieve here is to make the current players somewhat more happy, which isn't a bad achievement, though it obviously might come a the cost of making a few others unhappy / leave. But the argument that it would increase player numbers is baseless bogus, considering this is a poll for already-members.

Cheers,

dont bother rorax with sense makin!

However if you really wanna know how... uhm... well... maybe -some- of our high levels would log with a noob on another server to enjoy some gaming with friends. maybe. *shrugs* Im mostly in favor of one PC but plenty of good fun players who I dont doubt thier motives seem to think two would help. maybe its possible. hell... it would even allow you to put Syl on ice and actualy PLAY if you even remember whats it like.

Put her on ice on TSM bring her back for a session here and there and you could actuly have some real fun with the lowbie oceanics.
After all... no one is really enjoying the level spread in your group. you suffer it cause you like each other. and your resident DM suffers it becuase he's nice.

But if you could actualy play a njub?! damn, that would be kinda nice.

I believe that if desired, this could be achieved fine with temporary retirement. Or you know - regular retirement.
