I'm returning to ALFA after a long hiatus (ALFA will always triumph, because RL is dumb). Therefore, I demand to be informed where most of the good action is, good action being action good for a level-one, neutral(ish), mercantile(ish?) PC, and what sort of player groups there are floating around. I would hate to go through the arduous process of creating a character only to have it, for want of sweet RP action, wander listlessly about until it ends up murdered by a chicken or some such, without even a friend to avenge it.

[causk] ((play games over the internet?)) yea, wouldnt recommend that. internet is for porn and weird people.
[DarkHin] There is always a tenth spot for evil.
I'm rather fond of both BG and MS at the moment. BG seems to have the biggest playing base whenever I check. TSM seems a bit inactive at the moment, but it still has the best support (quests) for lower level characters by far.
Current PCs:
NWN1: Soppi Widenbottle, High Priestess of Yondalla.
NWN2: Gruuhilda, Tree Hugging Half-Orc
If your looking to be a bit of a non good character and just out to make some coin MS is a great start.. I have just improved the statics on Skaug.
ALFA (2000-??)
Past:
HDM and Builder Chessenta NWN1
DM and Builder Legends of Greyhawk NWN1
DM and Builder Exodus NWN2
Current:
Builder and DM Moonshae's
DM BG and WHL
Smoke me a kipper, I will be back for breakfast!!!
I'd think that which direction the "ish" on "neutral-ish" ought to inform where you start. BG has acquired a fair amount of static content lately, and has a player base with plenty of "Good intentions, but not good-aligned because of [X]." (usually a Hoar/ Shevarash style willingness to do horrible things to the bad(der) guys.)
MS obviously has a stable campaign (Trid's) that supports evil and evil-leaning neutral; I'm not really sure what the demographics on Cloud's campaign are, but that one is also pretty stable.
