Pondering...(aka Pithing Ideas)

I'm pondering what to play when I get those haks Bill has been so kind to send over. I have a couple of ideas that could help player groups with getting more interesting stories and times (no not evil necessarily, just different on my part) if a DM is interested - please PM me and I'll let you in on my ideas.

But before I start saying what I may want to play, I'd like to hear what other think I should first. I'm rather interested in two things: 1) What other people think would be interesting, allowable, and a challenge for me to play and 2) What is needed/wanted for player groups that have times which are at a workable time for me to play along. (I'm at GMT +4.5 so that's PST + 11.5, EST +8.5 AUS -6.5)

*cringes already hearing the resounding echoes of "Play a gnome!"and "No frolicker!"

If you're dealing with a lot of lag you might want to try some sort of loremaster character. That way you'll have a big excuse to avoid combat and the dread beast lag.

For your time frame you could easily go elfy on TSM

Or goody-good on TSM

Or dwarf on TSM

or consider naer-do-well of any variety on Moonshaes. ...we'd love another lowbie! :)

Just for my information here:

Are we still using D&D v3/3.5 source materials for reference? I'll need to get more books since I had a mad sell-off before I came here, unless someone has .PDFs I can have?

All you need is a Druid's handbook, scripted in Sylvan on tree bark with darkened and fermented tree sap ink.

*rolls eyes and wander off again... eats a few dried leaves fallen naturally off a chestnut tree*

We are consistently using canon as outlined in v3.5.

Except when we aren't.

Any character type which isnt' going to get hosed immediately by the shortcomings of satellite internet links. Download speeds, great, upload speeds, horrid. This has an obvious consequence in terms of the zillion inputs at the player's end to wander around, attack things, cast spells, etc. Whatever concept you pick, maybe one who spends the front end of his career doing safe things like singing in taverns or sage-ing it up around books, until you figure out whether satellite technology is liable to get a PC smoked quickly.

Play a Dwarf!

Seriously, one of those free-wheeling dwarves that cross-cultural barrriers. The rest of the beardies keep famously to themselves. The rest of the world suffers from their hearty abscence.
