For too long you humans, dwarves and elves have ruled the choicest parts of our isle...we slept in Myrloch Vale, penned behind these mountains while you human and demihuman interlopers build your grotesque human farms & towns, smelly dwarven holds & mines and filthy elf treehouses...No more! The fey army rises today and we will take back what is ours!

A flying, buzzing scurrying mass of fey is seen gathering on the outskirts of Myrloch Vale. They seem to be forming up into lines and conducting drills. The druids are worried and have informed the populace to prepare to defend their lives and homes. Word spreads quickly through the shipping lanes that the Kingdom of Corwell is hiring mercenaries of every stripe to bolster the defenses of the outer Cantrevs. Will you anwer the call? Are you afraid of a bunch of little pixies with their tiny pointy swords or will you rise to the challenge!

This event is designed for lvl 1s, to help stress test the server host and make sure it runs well. It will be guaranteed to be a bloodbath, with tons of cute pixies to kill. A party of 8-12 would be great.

Date/Time Saturday, 2:00PM New York City Time (Eastern).

This plot will continue into the live server and is loosely based on the FR plot of the risen fey.

This is a beta test, so what you do here does not count, normal alfa PC ruels don;t apply etc. you can even run if you want. We're just trying to see what kind of laod the server can hold.

Went to get myself all updated.
This am (US East) it worked fine to get my laptop done

But then tried numerous times throughout the day today for my desktop and hang up trying to update.

Not sure if it is my sice or the server...ut thought I'd post just in case

Will try to make the event Sat.

Try again and let me know what the exact error is.

I have good internet connection.

Have tried both with my work internet and my own wireless card.

I'm not highly computer literate, so it certainly could be on my end. But I can log in to other ALFA servers no problem.

Do you have an ethernet cable for your (laptop?) If so, use that not wireless, and see if it works

Laptop is done -

it is my desktop in my office that has no permanent ethernet connection (just a plug-in Wi-fi reciever for the hospital complimentary netwoork, or my own personal wireless card)

This is definately a *new* problem though. Never had an issue in the past. This is how I have been playing and updating for over a year here.

I'm trying the few limited things I know how to check. Checked to confirm that NWN2 has permissions for access to d/l stuff. Transiently turned off firewall jsut to see if that would help ...it didn;t.

Now I'm at a loss
