Is anyone else having problems when going to the IRC Chat link off of the ALFA website? It gives me a message saying Mibbit cannot find the page I'm looking for, and the login screen never comes up.

You'll have to connect with a regular IRC client to irc.sorcery.net it seems. The widget is indeed malfunctioning. :redx:

Thanks for the link, Paazin...I was able to "join" #alfa-003 and see people chatting, but i couldn't figure out how to respond or enter any chat dialogue of my own

Would it be possible to trouble you for a brief pointer so a chat dummy can advance beyond eavesdropping with that link?

I did manage to auto-slap jmecha with a "fishbot", so it wasn't a completely wasted effort, heh

If you mean the webchat on the sorcery site, there is a command box down the bottom of the window where you can type. Simply type away and hit enter and you are talking :D

If you want to send someone a private message, click on their name, then click 'query'. That will open a new tab where you can talk privately with the person.

To change between tabs, simply click the name of each tab at the top of the window.

Zic will have to fix the Mibbit chat up whenever he gets a chance.

Thanks Swift and Paazin...I went back in and found it straight away :D . I'm not even sure why I couldn't seem to find the text entry point on my laptop earlier

I think I solved the problem with the chat link.

Although I had to create an account which currently has the disadvantage to bring some ads.
Not sure if we had that before.
The cost to remove the ads is AFAIC way too much (up to 25 users, $49.99 / year, Up to 100 users, $9.99 / month, Up to 250 users, $24.99 / month).
So maybe it's better to switch to something else if the ads are really bad.

They must have been getting too popular and either a) needed to make money to cover bandwidth costs (o_O) or b) got greedy and wanted to capitalize on their popularity.

Maybe the best would be to use sorcery.net applet.
http://www.sorcery.net/chat.html

Anyone use it on a regular basis ? What are the pros/cons ?

Dunno what others think Hialmar, but I figure one applet is much like the others. Whatever would be easier for you to adjust the website to probably is best.
