Laughs from last weekend...

Post by rorax »

This weekend had two insanely funny moments...

Number one is the situation when from one side there is the group of "heroes" gathered closely to protected each other , and on the other side a black evil cloud filled with undead creatures.

Only Garlus stands aside from the main force, and suddenly there is a message:

"Garlus throws a grenade like weapon"

You have around 2 seconds to assume that Garlus probably meant to throw the grenade into the black cloud, but then you see the explosion hit the main party...directly the opposite direction from the cloud...

In the second situation the group was climbing down a dangerous slope with climbs checks and and all the rest. Grull(big half orc) and Karl (Small hin) were standing on the edge of the cliff. Grull remove the shield to get better climb rolls, but then i got confused with the buttons and accidentally used 'knockdown' when Karl was targeted, resulting Grull hitting the little hin with the huge sword and flatten him over the group on the edge of the cliff....with some of his parts in the air?

((OPPPS! , wrong button , sorry!!!!))

Good stuff ;) those two situations. Shame it wasn't recorded....anyhow, i really enjoyed from those entire two events(JLM's session and Wynna's session and Marcus with his crazy ideas...)

If anyone got something to add or some other funny moments, please do ;)

A good thing those alchemists fires are bugged and don't do any real damage IG...

A mage also singed the party with some sort of misdirected blast in the High Hold Fen area a few days back...would have been really funny had there been more time to RP an explanation, but the PC's were too busy fighting for their lives at that moment to give it due RP unfortunately 8) .

Fun times...reminded me of several PnP miscues in years past :D
I seek plunder....and succulent greens

[Wynna] Chula Lysander: [Talk] *Shakes head* I've been in worse situations. He was just....unjoyful! *stomps foot*

JLM: Are you talking about the fens caves, or the fens in general? Marcus was there for the fens caves, but the single fireball he cast fried only enemies... I cant take the credit (this time) for friendly fire!

Did get to bury Garlus in snow and ice yesterday, though... that was fun! We have so much fun together... isn't that right Dan ;)

Adecia Symbaern (as played by my real life girlfriend and brand new alfa member quarksoup) shot Berendil in the back with a magic missile while we were fighting for our lives in the caves behind the fen *chuckles*

I think it was Hoffneous who said at the time, "nothing says love like a magic missile in the face" and we did get to rp that a fair bit :)

Hey, its a learning process :) What doesn't kill you makes you stronger etc etc etc.

It is HARD to be a wizard in ALFA! Pick your spell. Pick your target. Allow for single effects or areas. Dont click on the wrong thing. Dont hit your stupi I mean helpful teammates charging into battle. Stay behind the tanks. Conserve your spells... Do all of this in real time. MAN!

I lay claim to the magic missile comment :P I remember laughing about that for minutes. You always joke about firing magic missiles into the darkness...never into team mates.

The fire blast was in the one outside....someone sent me an "I'm sorry" tell.....but Rath was too busy running around wildly (and, if I do say so myself, making awesome use of extedned mass vigor ;) )to emote on being blasted.

But yeah.......the "fog of war" was in full effect to much fun and amusement!

The real fun will be when Garlus stands Marcus up in front of Warcrown for an explanation.

That was Leif that got hit by the alchemists fire in the fen! I was so stunned, I couldn't even think of a funny emote to type. Fortunately, as daniel said, it didn't do any damage.

we really really need a fix to prevent targeting of player characters (at the player's option). It is just way too easy to fry a party due to a misclick with the nwn2 game system. If anyone knows of any game options setting that can be applied pls post here.

(it would have to allow heal and buff spells to target PCs also)

The game has keyboard short-cuts for "target next hostile", "target previous hostile" and "target nearest hostile". Set your game to perform actions immediately if the current target is an appropriate one, and Bob's your uncle.
