Demoralize Opponent
I was wondering something...probably because i've put plenty of points into my PC's intimidate skill. Anyways, has there ever been any discussion on one aspect of the intimidate skill which can be used in combat...that being to demoralize opponents? Basically, if the roll succeeds the opposed combatant is shaken for 1 round. Could this be something that can be worked in one way or another? Any thoughts?

As I recall, BH started a thread on that, yes.Analogkid wrote:has there ever been any discussion on one aspect of the intimidate skill which can be used in combat...that being to demoralize opponents?
The NWN Taunt skill comes close to that effect, although it's slightly more potent. It is probably doable to automagically give PCs a Taunt skill equal to their Intimidate skill and re-institute taunting. Since AL is out main scripter, odds are if you can get him to write the routines, they'd be implemented without too much objection.

For those whom would like to read, details on the skill here:

Couple of problems, requires an opposed level check (is that what the taunt feature uses?) and characters immune to fear, or non-intelligent creatures, aren't affected. If these bases are covered or accounted for, I think it sounds pretty cool!

Taunt uses a will save against a DC of 5 + the attackers taunt skill.Riotnrrd wrote:
