Storms of Zehir Races?

Post by Burt_Reynoldz_Mustache »

Will we be allowing the two new races from Storm of Zehir to be implemented in ALFA?

I have no idea, but the Yaun-ti pureblood fit right into the canon locale of Teric's WH server location. Even if they are not opened to players, I hope the DMs will be able to use them for NPCs at the least.

It will function much like other extraordinary races, i.e. DM approval.
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind

Curmudgeon already said he would have none of it on his server. No Yuan-Ti, and no Grey Orcs.

Wonder if the scaled faces are IC or OOC on the damned Yuan-Ti models... much like the whole horrible looking heads on certain planetouched (horrible but at least consistent w/ Monster Manuals I guess).

I believe, at least initially, that we'll have the scalyfaces be in-character. Like planetouched, it just causes too much confusion to have to go OOC in tells or (( )) text every time you encounter a player (or DM) you haven't crossed paths with before in order to clarify what your PC "should really look like", especially when looking more "normal" than the rendered in-game appearance is almost certainly advantageous to the PC in question. We may look into some customizer scripts for new PCs down the line, and certainly the situation will become somewhat different if we can get haks loading at character creation eventually.

All of that said, this has yet to be formally discussed among Admin or Standards (in terms of whether they will be permitted for playing as soon as we shift over to SoZ). Stay tuned for more information.
