To my embarrassment I cannot find the relationship between real life time and in game time
I know I've seen it posted somewhere before, but...
Can anyone tell me what 1 hour real time equates to IG?

Comic book time....
For the purposes of spells 1 hr RL = 9 hours IC
For the purposes of the long term passage of time by FR canon 1 year RL = 1 Year IC
For DM plots, ingame conversation ,aging of characters, gestational periods for pregnancy etc ............it is a bit fluid.
There is unfortunately no way around chatting in the tavern for an RL hour and being in a conversation with another PC that began at 8pm game time then 45 min a new PC walks into the tavern and says "Good mornin! enjoying your eggs?"

Think 8 minutes RL = 1 hour ALFA
So 1 hour real time = about 7.5 game hours.

The "hard" calculations are really only relevant for rest periods and when you're next eligible for one, spell durations, probably use/day powers, etc.
Everything else is fluid / comic book time / DM discretionary. An eight minute chat with a bartender over what kind of beer you'd prefer isn't necessarily "an hour", though any timed buffs you have on your PC will sure think so!
Players / PCs "forcing" anyone to comply with their view of time can get bent. "My elf had a baby and her baby is now 15 so therefore your young virile human fighter is now middle aged, despite your only playing one day a month for the last six RL months. You wasted your youth, all the DMs who supported my awesome baby plot must implicitly agree with that statement."

K...now I understand!
Heh...I guess I hadn't given it as much thought as it warranted. I can certainly understand why we use "comic book time", but for what I needed just now I will use Riot's conversion to calculate how long my PC has been in seclusion as in this instance it would correspond simply with the cycles of the sun across the Silver Marches sky.
Bunches of thanks to all for the help

I generally go with 1:1 game time for the times between playing.
In interacting with others, I personally find it easiest to not refer to specific times. So instead of saying "I haven't seen you for 3 months", I'd say "I haven't seen you for a while now", if it's been months of RL I may say "some months".
Incidentally, I think they're called tendays in Faerun, not weeks.
