A Land Far Away

I had to do a reinstall of NwN2 and MOTB. My CD keys have changed it appears. Can someone pm me that can fix this for me. I have the new CD keys available.

An easier way to do this is if you have your old keys, after you've installed go in manually and change the new keys back to the old keys. To access that you will need to go to....

The hard drive you have your programs folder on (mine is c drive) from the My Computer icon.
Enter your Program files.
Go to your NWN2 file within your program file (Saved mine as Atari, yours could be nwn2 or atari, not sure.)
There should be one folder showing here, NWN2. Go into it.
there will be a configuration icon here called nwncdkey. enter it.
Swap your new cd keys for your old cd keys and you should be good to go.

I noticed the Motb cd key was not in the file mentioned. Only one key (the original content key) It would not let me edit to adda key.

How frustrating. I will see if i can find a way to have it ask for my CD key for MoTB they may be the same after all.

Yep. That is the problem. My MoTB key is same as old but for some reson not in the key.ini file you mentioned. Looks like another stab at reinstalling. argghh !!

Now i have 2 functional CD keys and I am not getting the unauthorized CD key message on log-in. I am getting booted however.


I can log into a PW that only uses one public key...


So Back to my original problem. Who can I update my new CD key info with ?

Assuming you've got your nwn2cdkey.ini file set up with the 2 unique CD keys, so the game doesn't complain- try switching the order of the keys (switch which one Key1= and Key2=), then try logging into TSM again, see if that sorts things out. It should be one or the other that the server is looking for- matching up to your old records is the easiest fix (as opposed to having me go in and manually edit the CDKey associated with each of the p-variables set for your character).

I am just getting booted when i log into TSM. So I can get past character creation. When choosing my main PC and I even made up a test character to se if i could get in with a new PC.. When I am loading TSM I then get a your booted message.

This is different then the messsage I was first getting that said my CD key was unauthorized.

To add I can logg into other PW servers without any trouble. Have I been banned ? Thats what it looks like. Like the old message you get if you accidentally logged into one of the Nwn1 servers you did not have a passport for. Just "you have been booted" when loading the server.

re download the pwc manually (not worldgate) and see if that helps. might be corrupted

Switching CD keys worked. It did not help that I have 2 copies of NwN2 and MotB lying around

What I learned is the NwN2 key does need to be first as I had the opposite combo with MotB first and was booted for it. Switched them to the NwN2 one first and was in.
