This thread will contain info on every update and change done to the website.

Nov 5 2008:
- Added captchas at the end of Player/DM/Invite forms to defeat spambot issues
- Added website statistics, viewable by all members, updated hourly
- Fixed a couple of bugs in the applications module related to permissions in DM apps
- Disabled signatures in comments for better readability
- Members and DMs are automatically added to the correct Drupal UG on acceptance (phpBB group adds based on serverlocation still manual for now)
- Crontabbed basic drupal maintenance tasks
- Crontabbed Awstats for bawstats module
- Tweaked Imagemagick for better performance
- Additional mySQL memory and cache tweaks for better performance. Diskswapping appears to be history.
- Added URL Alias for website stats (http://www.alandfaraway.org/stats)

Members and DMs are automatically added to the correct Drupal UG on acceptance (phpBB group adds based on serverlocation still manual for now)

Implemented this just now. Members are added to both the Drupalrole 'alfa member' and the phpBB3 usergroup 'ALFA Member' when they're accepted. The forums they may want are accesible to anonymous users.

As for the DMs, it's possible but requires some work. People can select 'Any' as server to DM for which gives problems if I want to automatically add them to a group. Also the naming of DM usergroups is rather awkward which also makes it harder to do.

So when a DM is accepted, it's still up to the HDM to add them to their phpBB usergroup.

- Changed form for applicants. The checkbox 'OAS' was unclear. Added a better description. If people fill it out wrong now, they just don't read and we're not to blame.

- Expanded Downloads -> NWN2 to contain manual links to the latest required hak's + PWC's and portrait-pack.
- Changed title of Servers to Servers & Password. It should now be fairly idiot-proof.
- Upgraded backend to latest version.
- Applied security patches to various backends
- Fixed a bug in the bawstats config
- CCK upgraded to current version
- Early implementation of log parser (roekemoes)

Nov 15 2008:

- Updated phpBB3 to current version (3.03 released 12 11 2008)
- Updated phpbbforum Drupal module to current version to coincide with latest phpBB3 version

Nov 16 2008:

- Set up a better backup backend
- Drupal now uses a backup module for schedualed backups and logrotation. Once every 24 hours, and keeps 14 days of backups total
- phpBB3 db is backed up daily, weekly and monthly with rotation by a separate cronjob.
- Admin interfaces in both Drupal and phpBB3 allow for restoring these backups without requiring access to the backends
- Added better security through .htaccess in backupdirs and well as other possibly sensitive areas
- Edited NWN2 downloads page with TLK download info

- Added an improved IRC page, with better permissions control and more information

Nov 20 2008:

- Added [youtube] tags to phpBB3 to allow for embedding youtube video
- Added better permissions functionality for the drupal book format
- Aditional mySQL memory and cache tuning. Getting close to optimal now. Need bigger dataset to work with.

- Updated FCKEditor wysiwyg module and actual application to new stable version (RC5).

- Updated Date API to latest version
- Updated Calendar module to latest version

- Added spoiler tags through bbcodes (no hacking or addons required)

- Updated the date and calendar modules to current version
- Updated a few portions of the APM with correct spelling and better formatting
- Various backend updates for security
- Updated stats backend
- Slight changes to the captchas for increased readability
- Started some initial pentesting, no vulnerabilities or holes found other than those intrinsic to the basic design of member-applications.

Dec 11

- Added functional log parser!
People with the proper access can now query the Vault DB in all possible ways to get quick overviews of what they want to know.

Dec 11 2008

- Updated Drupal to version 6.7 released today, solving some security issues as well as several new patches being merged

14 Des 2008

- Upgraded Drupal to ver 6.8. An update was apparently not implemented correctly in 6.7 , hence another update.
- Redone a lot of admin and general privs in phpbb as part of changing rotku and fearyls status
