Planetouched races are now available for NWN2

Post by paazin »

The admin have come to a decision regarding plane-touched races and shall now allow the creation on our NWN2 servers.

As may have been gathered from before, the stipulations are the following:
  • These characters are extraordinary PCs. They must have the approval of the HDM-council in order to be accepted for play
  • By accepting to play a plane-touched character, the player must acknowledge that the NWN2 model appearance is in-game is the actual IC of the character -- that the PC is a rather otherworldly 'flavor' of plane-touched character.
For those who are not comfortable with the above two conditions, in the future there may be more models available for use to 'lessen' the plane-touched nature some; alternatively, feel free to create a normal race character with limited plane-touched ancestry, elaborating on it within the bio.

Demson wrote:Thank you for the thoughtful and thorough response, everyone. It was certainly worth it for me, though I do understand this topic had been discussed to death already.

Paazin and AL were looking into the current implementation and needed my judgement as PA, which I prefer to only give after properly informing myself. Hence the topic, I wanted to give you all an oppertunity to speak to me directly as PA (instead of basing myself soly on old topic)

Though Paazin and AL effort made this solution possible, I'll have the main responsiblity for it in case of problems. I think the current policy is the most obvious and workable one, and offers a solution to everyone's concerns.

If you disagree with this, feel free to take this up with me personally over PM.
[edit by Paazin]

Note, whereas the max level for normal characters is 20, ECL PCs (not only plane-touched but underdark races) also have this limit for their effective level with the ECL adjustment included. (e.g. a ECL+1 character cannot go above level 19)

People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

you misspelled my name again dan :P

but glad you're happy :)

Mind you the bar for acceptance as a planetouched PC is pretty dang high - as a warning to everyone who's trying to re-roll ;)

Thanks to the admin for this decision. I have no intention of ever playing one, but am glad the option is there for folk. :)
