How to play ACES

# of players = 2 min, unlimited maximum.

The goal is to have the highest "hand" ...

1s are "aces" they are wild.

You must have a wild to keep any additional dice.

You may roll up to 3 times (all day) or opt to stop early thus forcing subsequent players to reduce their number of allowed rolls.

Roll 5d6 make sure you are broadcasting so others can see your roll.

1st roll 2,2,2,3,4

(no wilds you cannot keep anything)

2nd roll 1,2,2,4,5

You have an ace so you can keep dice. 3 of a kind is greater than a pair...so you would likely keep the 2s and the ace. This gives you a current score of 32 = (3) 2's

3rd final roll (roll 2d6) 2,6

You now have 42= (4) 2's (the last 6 does not help your hand.)

Give the dice cup to the next player. The next player starts out trying to beat a 42 all day.

-----1st roll 1,1,3,4,6

They choose to keep the aces and the six. They have a score of 36.

-----2nd roll (2d6) 1,6

They have a 56, 5 sixes, 3 aces and 2 sixes... this is the second highest score in the game...the player chooses to stop rolling which forces the next player to attempt to beat their 56 score in only 2 rolls.

Give the dice cup to the next player. The next player starts out trying to beat a 56 in 2.

----------------1st roll 1,1,1,1,1

This player has all wilds, they have "shot the moon" the game ends with them winning. Shooting the moon is the "highest hand" possible.

Shooting the moon
1,1,1,1,6 = 56
1,1,1,6,6 = 56
1,1,6,6,6 = 56

The more aces you have the better your hand is in case of a tie, an exact tie ... same number of aces and digit dice in the same number of rolls is called a push...this is discussed below.

Once you get the hang of it, the games go quick and fortunes can change hands quickly.

The scoring is kept simple by turning the number of dice and the number on the dice into a two digit number. (3) 2s is 32 which is better than (2) 6s or 26.

Also 32 in 1 is better than 32 all day. If you match the previous high score in less rolls you may stop at that point to beat them.

If you tie it is a push and all players must pay to play a second round that will include the last rounds pot. This means even if you have been beat early on if the high score gets "pushed" you will have a second chance to win the doubled pot.
