A Land Far Away

Hi all,

I need someone with some decent writing skills, as well as good general ALFA knowledge, to help restructure and go through our website content.

We are working on creating a new website, and as such, have moved all the content out of the old (and bad if you ask me) wiki.

You will be working in a wysiwyg environment, so no php or html skills required at all, except a very basic routine of updating various links (you will get full training in how to do this. Takes about 10 minutes to learn).

The old wiki is a bit of a mess. A lot of content appears in multiple locations. We've basically narrowed it down to Player Documentation, DM Documentation, General Documentation and Technical Documentation.

The job will entail going through the material, scrapping un-needed or deprecated content, and updating as you go along.

There is no reason we cant have more than 1 person doing this. Delegating tasks without anyone stepping on each others toes is quite easy within drupal.

Please no comments on the actual layout and functionality of the site in this thread. The actual look and feel will be handled by the PR team. At this stage, it is all about functionality and integration.

Btw Zicada, can i ask if you have any plans to upgrade the forums to phpBB3 or better? I would really like to take advantage of some of the built-in features that bbs has. Thanks

We've got that covered. Important thing right now is going through the actual content we grabbed from the wiki, and tagging / categorizing. Then going through the content based on those categories to update / change / recategorize. Recategorizing, will be done by the same people who do the actual design. Updating and changing actual content (text/info) is what we need atm.

Okay, email me with specifics. Make it easy for me to know what is needed, so i stay on topic. Of late i have had a very poor attention span.

All right, WW is going through the wiki content we pulled out, categorizing it and updating the obvious. Based on those categories, there will be a lot less work to navigate and delegate later.

I'd be happy to help. I have some not-insignificant technical writing experience. WW is obviously very qualified for this; I'd just like to help.
