I'm not inclined to this at all. The voting structure is currently as it is. There is no sense in opening a public poll that at best proves nothing and at worst causes uproar.
The proper way to go about it is to get the voting process changed by formal methods.

Is this like the Hillary Clinton popular vote argument? Do we have ALFAns in Michigan and Florida whose votes are not being counted?
