A Land Far Away

Since alot of people have wondered how you actually close the doors in NWN2, here is how you do it.

1. Right click anywhere on screen and select the 'PC Tools' option
2. Click on the Miscellaneous bar to expand it
3. Click on the 3 in the Mode Buttons bar

Here you will find the Close Door button. Make sure you have nothing else selected, and then click on the button. Your cursor should become an asterix icon, and you should see a message in the combat log about entering "targeting mode". Now click on the door and it will shut.

Do note: This is only required for doors that AT you to another area. You do not need to do this for regular doors (EG all the doors between the shops in the Rivermoot Indoor zone)

I think I'm likely to leave a lot of open doors.

If you mean my character's journal thing... I'm actually writing it for real whenever he is emote writing or drawing in it. It's going to be posted later. So I would be doing that if there were no XP scripts but it's nice to get XP for it.

But do keep in mind that you only need to close doors if it would be within your PCs RP to do so.

And be careful of who you bitch at about closing doors. A group of PCs bitched at a Zhent High Mage to close the door in Waterdeep during NWN1 ALFA days...

The end result was that he Wail of Bansheed and killed the 10th lvl among them. This was back when 10th lvl was the pinnacle of achievement and one of our only current level 20s was like, level 1/2 or something.

They must've been trained under the notorious Door Nazis of OAS1... It seemed I was always getting yelled at to close the door to Dirk's.

The door nazis of OAS1 have evolved and duplicated and are now also on OAS2.

No DMs are involved with closing doors, wouldn't bother trying to get XP out of it

Honestly though? It's a pet peeve of mine too. Sometimes I wander throughout the town closing doors before I start RPing again (if I come back from an AFK status). Drives me bonkers.
