Lag is only bad for me when in combat. Then it gets scary.

Slide show at best for me. Usually I click a mob, then try to resolve what happened afterwards from the combat log. Host calculating power issue, I think?

Combat lag is the only lag I get, now that I turned off most of the eye candy. And it can be pretty bad.

A belated congratulations ALFA. THank you Indio, Rick, Wynna, and the rest of the contributers to TSM. The ship is afloat and sound, and I look forward to the up and coming additions to the fleet. As for the FLagship, I'll see if I can't hop on once or twice and take a look around.

I get a lot of lag when in combat also. I wonder what's causing it? A script or something, by chance?

Nearing 1 year

Post by dergon darkhelm »

Well folks. We're ticking down to 1 year of ALFA live on the NWN2 platform.

I think it has been a great success. The transition has gone roughly as expected and I think the community as a whole is a healthy as it has been since I joined back in '05 (that's not as long as some of you, but the years are definately adding up.

IC I have enjoyed a wide ranging variety of plots from a dynamic and committed DM crew, had great RP with a spectrum of PCs (and players) as diverse as can be imagined, and been consistenly amazed by the efforts of the "behind the scenes" people who keep the world humming 24/7 so I can log in whenever the fancy strikes and enjoy the best gaming experience around.

A toast to all and thanks for a great year!

I second Derg's comments. Things are as engaging as they have ever been and there is less drama.

Thanks to all who are making it happen! :D

Oh, I wish I'd have been there on Live Day. Sounds fun.

Can't we arrange some date where we try to get as many people as possible together on one server? Possibly for some large-scale DM event (or several small ones)?

I'm thinking 15+ people atleast and 3-4 DMs. :jive:

A year, wow. A lot of great work and play has gone into getting the servers up and running relatively smoothly over this time.

Hats off to those who have kept the rp chugging along throughout the course. I hope to be able to have some time this summer to join in.

Cheers!

I can honestly say that ALFA's first year of NWN2 live was incredibly enjoyable - much moreso than I anticipated given NWN2's lacklustre reception. Thanks in particular to Wynna for the awesome DMing, Vendrin as Barid - my PC's only real 'friend', Mikayla, dergon, BH, daniel, jmecha and the vast number of others who served as victims of my murderous machinations (which never quite came to fruition). Here's to another year.

And ALFA ticks on. Every time I log into the website, I'm always amazed to see the number of players on line, still making the most of this amazing thing we have here.

So, with the overwhelming support this excellent idea of mine has garnered, what do you big-wigs say we get the ball rolling on this?

You know we need something to bring people together.
