ALFA Player Groups and Communities

Post by Rotku »

Been going through the ALFA wiki the past few days updating things, and was just wondering if people could let me know (or go and edit it yourself) which of the following groups no longer exist, or if there are any more groups to add.

Half tempted to remove the thing entirely, as I imagin that 90% of these no longer exist, and we have the DM Sessions page thingy now, but will wait to see the response first.
A note to DMs and Players already affiliated with groups: Please help to keep this list up to date.

THE LIST

The list below is organized ALFAbetically by group name.

Black Dawn
Focus: Cyricists (of the somewhat fanatical variety)
Server: Selgaunt (eventually The Anuaroch as well)
DM Contact: Electryc
Player Contact: (Only Available IC)
Times:
Notes: The Black Dawn is a Cyricist cross between a Mystey Cult and the Knight's Templar.
Info.- Current as of 2/12/07

Cormanthor Village Project
Focus: Good characters working for the betterment of the Cormanthor Forest.
Server: Shadowdale
DM Contact: Unknown
Player Contact: Acadius Lost (PC Dara Tylnermana) Not AL
Times: Various
Notes: The main reason for Cormanthor Village (or Emerald Springs, as it is now known) is to create a safe place in Western Cormanthor, to work for stability in the region, and to work with those that wish to LIVE WITH NATURE and to inform those that don't know how. Many fruitful bonds have been created and trust gained for this project, amongst the fey, the villagers of Shadowdale, and the farmers of Mistledale. Emerald Springs does not just cater to rangers and druids. All who wish to work to better nature and the livelihood of those who reside in its realms are welcome. Elves, humans, gnomes, dwarves, and hin. Tasks involve organizing resources and defenses, scouting outlying forests, and engaging in diplomatic talks with the dales.
Info.- Current as of 2/12/07

Crimson Mist
Focus: L/NE minded players with a firm grasp of evil intent.
Server: Daggerdale
DM Contact: Any DD DM
Player Contact: Lyon Kross (GlassRain)
Times: Random weekly TBA
Notes: Bolted doors and window slats shut. Covers clenched and teeth chatter. Wind is silent and Gaurds on edge. Beyond the village wall something stirs something lurks. An old foe dawn to a new age. When fear pulses in the throats of men and women of the dale, where will your alliance lay? We are the divided.
For more information PM GlassRain.
Info.- Current as of 6/13/07

Daggerdale Militia
Focus: Characters primarily of neutral or good aligments.
Server : Daggerdale
DM contact: Mizbiz
Player contact: Amalanna (Aitana)
Times: Various times weekly, meetings scheduled through forums.
Notes: The militia aids Lord Morn and his Freedom Riders in protecting the Dale and keeping peace and order. Members will receive a militia badge and weekly pay. Promotions through the ranks are based on merit.
info. current as of 2/9/07

Dwarves of Glen
Focus: Dwarves of good intent who want to further the role of Dwarves in the dalelands
Servers: Shadowdale and Mistledale
DM Contact: Brimsar or Virvaldin
Player Contact: Maxcell
Times: Mondays, 1900-
Notes: Situated south of the Moonsea Ride at Mistledale's eastern end where the Dale is narrow enough that one can clearly see the boundary forest to both north and south, Glen is a hamlet of stone-and-thatch cottages that is much grander that it appears ... It fills a small gorge or depression in the ground, so that what look like single-story cottages from afar prove to descend three floors or more to the cobbled, steeply sunken streets. An elaborate system of drainage gutters collect rainwater safely into cisterns to prevent flooding, but ice must make the streets deadly for much of the winter! Glen is home to many dwarves who are masters of farming on platforms held up on poles, in tubs, and in cellars. They also specialize in growing crops under glass frames in the depths of winter. Glen is more than just a market town for the area. It has the expected smiths and masons, and one can see gears and wheels and metal machinery all around. The Dwarves of Glen defend the village above and below, using proven tactics and stoic loyalty to withstand even the greatest of odds. They are the harbingers of Dwarven justice and preservers of relics of Dwarven lore.
Info. current as of 2/9/07

Eldreth Veluuthra [To be removed]
Focus: Elves
Server: Sembia
DM Contact: FanaticusIncendi
Player Contact:
Times: California and Hawaii(GMT -10)
Notes: The Eldreth Veluuthra (Victorious Blade of the People) seek to defend the elven lands from the destruction influence of humanity, by whatever means necessary.

Notes: This player group is comprised of noble and common drow belonging to the Menzoberranzan noble house, Qu'ellar Faen Tlabbar. Yes, if you are looking for black-skinned, white haired elves in porno-school-girl uniforms or porno-pseudo-nazi uniforms having tentacle sex with every demon who delivers a pizza to their cave or cleans the muck out of their underdark lakes, this is the place for you.

Servers: This is a secret (exact locations revealed in time)
DM Contact: None
Player contact: CynonTimes: variable ...also TBD
Notes: The worshippers of Shar are spread all over Faerun in cells that share a varying degree of associations with one another. Most residents of Faerun know little about this mysterious cult. As a PC, plots are focused upon intrigue, subversion, and secrecy. The risks of exposure are high, but so are the rewards of doing the bidding of the Nightmaiden.
Info. current as of 3/17/2007: Recovering from the brink of anilhiation, small cells of Sharran PCs have begun to pop up around Faerun once again. Now may be the time for the Faithful to again emerge from the Shadows.

Player Contact: go through Inaubryn or through GFL Mikayla
Times: Everyday we are doing something somewhere, easy to find a niche time
Notes: Perhaps the longest running player faction in ALFA dating back to pre-live. Faction built, discovered, and remodeled temples and shrines perhaps make this faction also the leading owner of faction-owned real estate in ALFA. We have our own website that we use to coordinate goals, gametimes, events, etc. The Pentagon is made up of five groups of individuals. Each of the five groups represent the five aspects of The Chromatic Dragon; red, blue, green, black, and white and will be especially attuned and empathetic to the needs of that particular subspecies. Each aspect represents a different particular area of duty also: Red – expansion of Church infrastructure and treasury; Blue – Church military and security; Green – covert expansion of Church membership; Black – establishing a black market/slave trade; White – espionage/assassination.

You can remove my Eldreth Veluuthra group. Apparently most elves here want to frolic in flowers rather than in the blood of the human peons.
Currently otherwise occupied.

If the "Cormanthor Village Project / Emerald Springs" has a player contact now, it's not me.

Rotty, probably be wise to ditch all the groups that are downed servers now, if they reform for NWN2, put them back up. The last time the list was updated was by me during my Retentions tour, and what I did was copied all of those old groups and saved them in a folder on my desktop should they re-emerge, then wipe them off of the list.

Tempted to go one step further and ditch the entire list, but we'll see.

Anyway, ones from closed server are:

Crimson Mist (DD)

Daggerdale Militia (DD)

Faen Tlabbar (TSM/NU)

Underworld of Daggerdale (DD)

And then there are numerous ones that say Selgaunt, which need to be changed to Sembia.

Tlabbar's still roaming above ground, might want to ask around if the "group" is still in exsistance..I'd imagine not.

The "Faen Tlabbar" group should be renamed "Valakasha in Exile" or something similar at this point, but we are still around. We are down to two active players, but one player has technical problems. So we are not the most active group in existence, but as long as Shey is around, the group exists.

So, it should probably be re-written (if you keep the list):

House Valakasha in Exile
Focus: Classic, evil, Lolth worshipping drow who have been exiled to the surface and are now trying live in the shadows.
Server: Sembia
DM Contact: HDM Valdimir, DM Electryc,
Player Contact: Mikayla
Times: U.S. evenings primarily on Monday.
Notes: This player group is comprised of mid-to-high level Lolth worshipping drow. Currently, the group has two high priestesses, one a former Matron. Together they form "House Valakasha" but the house is in exile. This house has been formerlly known as Auvryndar and as Faen Tlabbar, and it was a classic Lolth worshipping drow group with betrayals, in-fighting, evil, sacrifices and..... lots of demon sex. Currently the group is making its way in the underworld of Sembia - we are the cloaked figures in Copper Alleys you really don't want to bump into ... why settle for the lesser evil?

Inf. disturbing and current as of 2/3/08
ALFA1-NWN1: Sheyreiza Valakahsa
NWN2: Layla (aka Aliyah, Amira, Snake and others) and Vellya
NWN1-WD: Shein'n Valakasha

i can do a mass-email just to double check but i'd imagine the Pentagon is dying

several of the PCs are still alive but most of the servers they play(ed) on aren't LOL
Garrigan DeLorre - Paladin 6 - died honorably in battle
X'Anne - Witch (Druid/Ranger mix) 4 - captured and imprisoned awaiting trial (retired)
Talon Xavaliir - Cleric 11 - living

THanks coach, Curmudgeon and Mikayla.

What I'm starting to think, as we obviously do have some groups still around, is instead of having them all presented on one page, have a sepreate page for each group (with screenshots and everything is someone from that group is willing to take them).

But we'll see. Will give it a few more days for replies, then go and PM all those DM & Player contacts of groups I haven't heard from.

Okay, updated the list (and changed the format). I've removed all the ones I haven't had confirmation from. Will be PMing the contacts now, just to double check.

I don't think the Cormanthor Village/Emerald Springs group needed removing -- just have different players involved. Might put kmj as the player contact, if'n he'd not scream and flee at the notion? Still three highly active PCs who live in that village, and more with a vested interest in their wellbeing.
