It would seem like, the Tieflings are in the new PHB 4.0 and guess what? Gnomes are out! How is that for a joke?

Awesome for those who are not playing in Alfa... since our DM's finds it perfectly acceptable to try to envisage the endless personalities of elves, the rock and stone of the dwarfs but find soooo strange and unfathomable to try to get into the mindset of someone with infernal or celestial ancestry.

Well done guys!

You risk annoying DM's who have and continue to actively campaign for plane-touched player races..

Not to point out the obvious but gnomes are supposed to be a terrestrial (albeit uncommon) race. They've been a playable race since 2nd edition came out.

Tieflings are supposed to be even more uncommon unless we are going to start having villages, cities, and towns with even a portion populated by them.

Which just makes for a very strange scenario (personal opinion) to have in Faerun.

Tiefling is a product of demonic and human intercourse.

Incorrect Mag...

The correct definition of Tiefling is....

A. An extremely rare occurance of race mixture that apparently 1/4th of ALFA wants to play, making the race not that rare of an occurance.

B. A race that determines weather Souvarine plays ALFA2.

C. A race that is causing major controversy, nevermind that the issue is such a minor one, whereby a select group of players constantly complains about not being able to play them in ONE of many PW's available on the platform.

Of coarse there are other definitions I am sure...but the absolute absurdity of the issue just boggles my mind... SO FU%*#$^ING WHAT if we don't allow tieflings? Amazing how it's always tieflings, and aasimirs are rarely mentioned...I guess everyone wants an excuse to be evul...if so, PLAY A DROW! Not that anyone will be able to play a Damn thing if we don't get our servers into beta...

So before you complain, work the toolset so at least we'll be able to play SOMETHING...and let's worry about the Tiefling issue that's been blown way out of proportion because the complainers have nothing else to complain about atm later.

He's just talking about the core books. Every setting has its own sourcebook; Faerun will still have gnomes and half-orcs, even though they're not in the core.

i was actually gonna play an evil aasimir.

Anyways, I've always believed planetouched should be a template not a race.
