Official ALFA Myspace Page Up!

I was bored and after talking with Ewayne I decided to make an offical ALFA myspace page to lure people to ALFA that play NWN2 and are into D&D there. I still have a number of things to do to the page like upload our banner or so and would like to upload some videos any of our guys might have for our NWN2 servers.

There are a lot of NWN2 players on Myspace and even NWN2 groups. I thought this would be a good way to grab us some exposure from those folks on there. I would be more than willing to give the password etc to Ewayneself so he and I could maintain the site. We can also use the site to keep in contact with other projects (hey Admin, you listening?)

Anyway, if your on Myspace goto the page and become a friend of Alandfaraway! If your not on myspace go sign up and then go become a friend of our project! Help support the project!

http://www.myspace.com/alandfaraway

This can be a good tool for us to showcase our work here.

Edit: Im still messing with the site so this wont be the last look it gets.

This is a great idea. Myspace is a worldwide phenom that has been wasted on teenage girls for far too long and a good free way of promotion. The page can be built up to draw in more people by the way it is categorized, its content, and freebies within the myspace framework.

I cannot wait to see the finished product. Put up an Alfacon pic or two!!

(just not Loulabelle's wetsuit one)

I didn't realize ALFA had been around for 86 years. Quite impressive! I do agree it's mostly male.

So, by putting up the photos of the male members of ALFA in sexy bathing suits will we attract lots of teenage girls to play?

And guys pretending to be teenage girls, and the perverted men that try to find them.

Yes, i consider Myspace to be the asshole of the internet.

Meh...my intent is to promote the project. There are tons of roleplayers on Myspace. They play D&D, LARP, Play NWN, etc. We can set the page up to promote/give a ton of info about ALFA and we can draw new blood into the project using the page. I went looking after doing a NWN2 search on Myspace and there were a number of folks like us that have their own projects or groups.

Its but one tool we should be using to promote the project. We need a Community Manager to go around the different NWN2/NWN1 sites and update the community on our progress and also answer questions on forums, etc. I know Rotku was looking for someone. In the past Wynna did a great job at this.

I would once again ask our members to sign up on Myspace just for the simple fact of helping promote our project by adding yourself to the friends list of Alandfaraway. You guys can post and tell your experiences with ALFA on the page as well. Lets be positive and try and get new folks into the fold!

Also if anyone has HTML experience your welcome to msg me. I am wanting Ewayneself to give me a hand in development since the basic page editor that Myspace gives is lame. We could seriously make it look really nice with a ton of info that will direct people here to our main site.

Cheers!
Danubus

That was me messing around. I had my original age on there, but since this isnt my personal site I decided to change the age. It was purely being silly.

Also, I had a thought! As we do here with our Library I would encourage folks to write up short stories, blurbs promoting their servers, gaming groups promoting their factions, etc to msg me and I will add those to the Blog every day or so to keep the page fresh with information. Once I get Ewayneself on board or another webpage guru I will give them the ability to update it as well.

Like to thank Wycked-Liz for turning me onto Skem9.com and some of the many templates they have for Myspace. We found one thats not too shabby. We can change the templates whenever so what we are thinking is we will jot down here a number of links for the project to look at. We might have a contest or a poll made up so ALFA can choose what they think would best respresent the spirit of ALFA on the page. Once again, thanks for your help, Liz!

Updated the page with a new template. The other went belly up thanks to Photobucket. Tell me what you think. Might still have a contest with ALFans deciding what background we use.

We've had some interesting folks sign up for the site, including folks who work at WOTC and are writers/songwriters in general. The person who wrote Maiden of Pain is one of them and actually knew about ALFA! You guys really should go check things out. Dms, Im still avaliable to put up server blurbs and show off your art, server screenshots, etc. Get with me in PM or in IRC and Ill be happy to put them up.
