Just wondering if I can finnagle a small change for better communal outlook and member perspective. This could lead to a large departmental perpective shift amoungst our members, and perhaps open matchmaking possiblities in our membership.

Many options exist, but the factual data verses the prejudicial opinions from this will lead to view points not revealed yet. How correct they appear depends on the retreival system adn the individual.

....... but basically the option of finding a familiar name to a particualr task and the level of availablitiy will be hopefully shown, aside from all the banter that this stuff creates.

reading through all the options in HDB's polls: 3.2 hours.

Other: Just playing, <=10 hours/week.

Its got the rough edges just right. Its not even set to give a graduated perspective across the spectrum of activities.

I wanted the info bad........If I could have a perspective of ALFA hours, how many, from who and where the large areas of ALFA activity, then I could set my effort where I'd put it.
I honestly dont' have a grand picture of the hours involved to keep ALFA going, after over a year even. I'd like to drop some where we need them, put some where I'd enjoy them, and match these with some hours to offer in retrospcet to this Poll.

The worry is the masses of ALFAns who avoid the forums or abstain from such polls. I hope there is a accurate picture gained from here.

Using the median of each hourly range and +5 to the overhead, Ive calculated the potential ALFA hours for those that committed to one of these catagories.
A catagory thats missing is those, whos ALFA hours fill every option.

Avg. Weekly ALFAn Hours Per Catagory:
Toolset only:5
DM only:55
PC only:2275
DM/PC:195
PC/Toolset: 230
DM/Toolset:165
Admin function/DM: 0
Admin function/PC:50


Total Pollers = 175 ALFAns
Total Hours = 2975 hours/week
Avg. Hours/Poller = 17 hours/week


The amount of pollers suggests that many hours were missed in the census, but the ratio may be accurate enough to use.

I spend roughly

4-8+ hours a week DMing average

12-36+ hours a week in the toolset [between 3 servers]

4-6 hours a week playing



now just so you don't think I have NO RL ......... alot of my toolset hours overlap the playing and DMing hours........can we say multitasking.......

That we all spend too much time in the forums.

Admin Function Staff - Forums - Around 4-6 hours a day, split up into 2's
Dming - Between 10 and 20 hours a week, closer to 20 sometimes on a good week 30

Playing - I aint even got a PC at the moment, keep trying to find time to make one but see above, add in a job which demands 10 hours days 5 days a week and bleh.

I see HDB is still smoking, maybe even moreso now than ever before.
