How do you think Permadeath should be handled?

Post by Nalo Jade »

on the topic of permadeath, how do you think we should handle it ?

A. Limited number of Rez's ( using a undropable Rez counter to keep track)

B. Spell component cost ( script raise dead and other spells to only work if they can take a 5000GP diamond from the PCs inventory)

C. Reduction of constitution (through the use of an undroppable item )

D. The current system is fine (don't fix it if it ain't broke)

E. After 10th level you cannot be raised as you have become to important to your Deity and you are irrevocablly summoned ... this should help keep high level PCs from running amuck... Twisted Evil

I vote for ummm .... I'll wait and see what everyone else chooses and then go with that since I really hate being flamed for not agreeing with the loudest forum posters...*Sarcasm* I think E. because it helps create a decline for highlevels and we are in the "year of Fallen heroes" AND C. for
"raise-dead" only and B. If its possible for Ressurection...with no CON penalty and A. but at a really high number like 10 because past that it is a bit ridiculous IMO. ... so everything except D.

[Edit] just a note btw did you all notice I didn't even mention PnP scheduled groups ... oh drat.

can someone make this a poll please ? :D

This would have been brought to the players in time once the dms settled on a proposal. But fine I'll set up the poll.

I voted STFU not because I wish to tweak NJ's nose but because the option I support is not listed. To wit: I would remove scripted raises from ALFA altogether. There would be no limit on the number of raises a character could have, but the raises would have to be provided by a DM. The cost of such raise would, at a minimum, be whatever spell component cost we agree on, be that the 3.0 or 3.5 guidelines, but could be much higher. A recent 'raise' on SP took more than a game year to accomplish and cost far, far, far more than even the 3.5 guidelines cost for true rez. C'est la vie.
ALFA1-NWN1: Sheyreiza Valakahsa
NWN2: Layla (aka Aliyah, Amira, Snake and others) and Vellya
NWN1-WD: Shein'n Valakasha

This is PnP...its D&D...the rules apply when they are set in the core perimeters.
Entertain the variances but don't lose the essence of the launch from the ALFA, alpha!

I would love to see it all done by DMs. But barring that (as that would never happen), I would want to see what the Permadeath Team decided put into place. Dont' know if everyone can see this, but there it is.
