I had the impression that potions - - something in the basic game, could only self target (that is, you drink 'em), got messed around with in ALFA to at least let the cure line of potions target buddies, either upright ones or KO'd ones. It may only be KO'd ones you can even help with (force feeding), I am not sure. My play has little reliance on potions, but lots of reliance on scrolls and wands which can definitely target whoever needs targeting.

Getting yelled at like that from DMs is precisely why most players don't speak up. They get afraid DMs just won't DM them anymore despite being put over coals each time the DM comes around, it's a vicious cycle that needs to change on both ends because it gets tiring for players to consistently get their ass kicked with little reward or recompense and then for DMs to get frustrated over their players concerns, instead viewing them as 'complaining whiners'.[/quote]

Or instead of saying anything you can just RP that as the world not being fair and suck it up. there is just as much RP material in being a beat up, downtrodden hero/villain trying to make his way in a world that keeps it's foot planted firmly on his neck as there is having a richy rich "my shyte smells like roses" PC. get lemons? Nothing to do with being fair or unfair, but if you want to consider it 'RP' for DMs to be afraid of dealing with loot pricier than MW weapons... not stopping you.
