Hmm... never would have called Amar Vendrin's lackey. I wonder what Amar thinks of that. I wonder what Vendrin thinks of that

I ignored it, as I most often do when that certain special someone types. It just makes the world go smoother for everyone.

This is some of the smallest drama ALFA has ever had, and people are put off from it? Yeesh, it probably would feel like the apocalypse if some of the folks had been around for both quakes (barring in mind, one was reasonably weaker than the other). If you've really read this thread, you'd notice something that may actually spark some hope into your damn minds -- interaction and understanding.

Do you not see the DMs that rose to defend their playerbase? Do you not look at the server's forum and realize that now the DMs are being more informative, gathering information and actually explaining their plans in the long-term? This thread only concerns three people, if even, and has no effect on how anyone else plays the game currently. If Rusty is a dirtbag, it hasn't stopped me from having fun. If Vendrin is a shit disturber, I sure as hell haven't had any less fun. Amar being Vendrin's partner in crime? So what? Is ALFA2 still running? Am I still playing on a server and RPing and having fun?

Then what the hell is everyone sitting around and crying foul for in a thread that doesn't concern them? President Bush in Harold & Kumar 2 said it best: You don't have to have trust in your government, just have trust in your country. So? If the Admin is being a douche, you don't have to trust him to still enjoy the game itself. Just trust in your server and trust in the players around you AND HAVE FSCKING FUN!

Now everyone shut up and play the game. I haven't been apart of ALFA for eight years to see people crying over this weaksauce drama -- I've been apart of ALFA to play the damn game... and occasionally bug the snot out of people in #alfa on IRC.

Disclaimer: This wasn't really directed at you, but merely towards people who have been posting/freaking out about this thread in general. By no means would I tell you and solely you to shut up, unless you're in chat and posting Rick Rolls like Mord does every damn day. It's sad to see how many people wig out over something so small as this. Does no one remember the Quake anymore? What about Barendd hounding Alara every chance he got? Hell, I'd pay to see a good White Warlock rant ending with, "Monkeys, the lot of you!" at this point.

agreed.

btw, the comments at Vendrin and Amar, were all done in a "playful" context. I am glad that Amar "lol'd" and Vendrin "ignoring me" is totally cool.

I am extending the "peace pipe" to the both of them. I am truly sorry for my erratic/emotional past. I was on like a 2 year "man-period"...some pretty heavy stuff was going on back then...I know it affected how I responded to Vendrin's "teasing", I took it WAY to seriously.

I hope you guys realize the comments made in this thread were "playful" not meaning to hurt your feelings or publically insult you...

Mmmm'Kay?

Strange, I really don't think I wigged out. I log on every three to six months to see if the parts of ALFA that frustrated me have changed. Theads like this, weaksauce though they are convince me that they have not.

Seconded.

[Edit to add: when I see the nastiness, it reminds me how I was drawn in before. It is easy to say "just play and have fun," but I can't ignore the boards. I tried that. I can't do it. But I don't need the feelings of ill will that are generated. It brings me down. It turns what should be an enjoyable pastime into something that gets my blood pressure up. I stopped playing because of disagreements with a few people and am really reluctant to take that chance again.

For years I tried to mediate on these boards, but failed miserably when I ended up having my own feuds with people. I am not blaming anybody but myself for these feuds, I did not handle myself as I should have and found myself becoming part of the very problem that bothered me so much. Being a hypocrite like that was unacceptable for me, so I took what I thought was going to be a break of a few months.

However, much like Lead, every time I pop back in to see how things are going, I see that they are pretty much the same. It doesn't do much to encourage me to participate again.

Yeah, I know that nothing can be done about it. I am just rambling. The boards have been this way since day one. The thing that has changed is my tolerance.]
