How do we feel about playing and DMing in ALFA?

How do we feel about playing and DMing in ALFA?

Not, until the "decision" on PC Planetouched is revoked. I'm still sitting 15 pages of background for my Tiefling. I'll play here when I can put all that to use.

Other than that - looking forward to seeing the new lead admin elected. And maybe seeing some of you get your arses in gear and MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN here.

Becoming an RP DM and using that tiefling character as a very vibrant and active NPC is a good option and one with its own rewards.

As members, there's alot of room for us to "make something happen." Let's not limit ourselves.

playing an NPC would not be anywhere near the kind the of entertaiment or enjoyment that comes from playing for me. Besides that, ive got my hands full on DMing running a LARP.

I contributed plenty in the past. Including being the spearheading frontman of the Crafting project about what...2 years back now is it? Nothing Ive put forward has seen fruition. I've put my motivation elsewhere. I'm not here to contribute anything other than my loyalty and membership (and I suggest you all to every person I run into that plays NWN).

It's really quite different beasts. Players do not relate to npcs as they do with other characters. If it would give the same feeling, i'd be a RP DM since a long time.

Tieflings and aasimar should be in alfa, they're already in the game...gees, we're accepting frigging svirfneblins. How can alfa be behind the basic game in terms of player content.

DM staff does a great job and I have a few minor gripes about gameplay especially concerning that tiefling thing but I played NWN1 without teifs running about so meh.

I should say something, because I've seen a small smattering of distain here and there about being lvl 1.

I believe why being lvl 1 sucks is because the lack of CR appropriate monsters for that lvl. Now, a rat of small size skittering about and murdering a mage seems like a irrational CR to me. I could say, make a mage on cormyr and attack those bunnies to see just how dangerous they are. Chances are, meleeing the poor bunnies would be a death sentence for a mage but is that really realistic? Maybe perhaps if we adventured in a Monty Python flick.
