ALFA will be 1374-1375 off the top of my head.. at this time, Phlan is no longer an uncivilised ruin but it did cop some destruction during the Rage of Dragons. The western section needs to be rebuilt as does the old temple ward near the temple of Bane however the main parts of the city survived pretty well. Most of the sections that copped a bit of dragon pwnage were areas on the verge of being rebuilt anyway..

Here's a shot of Scholar's Square in Phlan..

I managed to recover a bit of what I lost of Phlan in a crash but not all..

the Phlan Bazaar..

I'm currently doing what I can until my plug-ins update to 1.1153.. I reinstalled NWN2 and my drivers so I could get rid of a crashing bug. This seems to have worked (Thanks indio) however I accidentally updated myself too early.. :)

i like it, hard to find NWN2 images that don't all have a blue/green look to them. the reddish tone looks great, as do the burnt sections.

actual time not including system glitches, etc. probably about 3-4 hours. Alot of that was spent jumping back and forth between placeable categories to add a bit of detail in the ruined section and the two bazaars.. I'd probably get it done a lot faster now I've done it twice due to crashes ;)

thats a 28x28 area and I have three more 20x20 areas to flesh out Phlan proper and a a handful of adventuring areas like Valhingen Graveyard, Sokol Keep and Sorceror's Isle to do.. I'm in no rush to get those done though, Phlan is just my distraction/catharsis when I need a break from Zhentil Keep building..

Awesome work Thangorn, Meh wishes Santa would have brought broadband to my hamlet for X-mas. Phlan will be a great addition, you just need to figure out where to hide Tyranthraxus.

Hi folks,

My building will be on hold for a little while..

I am currently finishing up at work, moving my house and then flying to Queenstown, NZ to get work and a place to live..

It'll be a little while until I have building rig with me as I'm just taking a backpack and my laptop to start with..

Never fear, the Moonsea will still be getting built though. I've got about 3 months where my wife wont be with me where I'll need to have a project to keep me sane..

anyone who wants to pick up some building work.. the mods on the DM ftp. Just Pm me if you are interested in helping over the next couple months.

Thanks guys

- Dez

Good luck, Thangorn- best wishes for a smooth and positive relocation. I look forward to having a peek around the uploaded module in the meantime. Hopefully we'll have things all primed for your return once you're settled.

Got a proposal for you Dez.

Depends on how you feel about me doing a rebuild though. My concern atm is the corruption issues that are likely ted to specific areas, but Ive so far been unable to identify.

So would t be ok if I used YATT to string together a series of new superareas that cover the regions you've covered?

Indio.. I've been planning to do that myself. I think with your YATT build technique it shouldn't take too long..

I think the problem is I started building that mod from the beta toolset.. I think I need to start clean because the crashes are just ridiculuos now..

My ego.. says "No! I want to do it! I've been plugging at this too long.." but in the best interests of ALFA, I think if you have the time and inclination to do it, please feel free.

I'd appreciate it if you'd take my work as a creative brief/style guide though.. I've done at least 12 different versions to try to get the right "feel" :)

My build maps are all accessible on the 006 Moonsea forums.. let me know if I am missing something..

Thangorn's solitary work on Moonsea should stand as an inspiration and a caution to all prospective builders: It's a big job, best taken at your own pace and with frequent sanity breaks. Thangorn and Indio's proposed collaboration from this point on is even more inspiring an example. Thank you both for putting your considerable skills to work for ALFA in NWN2.

Just to let you guys know..

I'm flying to New Zealand today to start my new life. My internet contact will be intermittent for a time and I probably wont have my build rig and decent internet with me for a month or so..

Indio is working on the rebuild and I'll be back to kick the project along as soon as I am settled..

Take care ALFAns
