We got community buy-in on the existing 2 PC rule. You won't have my support if you touch it. We should not amend it so someone can run a static.

When Biddle got saddled with one of those statics on BG inadvertently that require MS items, a BG DM went and got them and sold them to him. The DM could have also run a plot around it etc. So ask a DM to get you the mundane items some other way, not like those items are rare Moonshaes specialties available only on MS. You can buy chapbooks anywhere. Ditto for hats.

It's a good idea in theory, and some DMs will love the opportunity to engage with characters about things they truly seem to care about, but I'm not entirely sure all DMs will just adore being made crutches for static completion; with the prospect of complaint if they dare add plot (i.e. challenge) to those 50gp/xp. ;)

You know what might be another idea that not only helps you yourself, but fosters dynamic in-game entertainment for more people? Hiring a fellow adventurer! Many are known to travel around, and some sport an impressive resumé of delivery runs to recommend them.

Reminiscing, setting yourself up as a scrimshaw trader was a viable roleplay opportunity for people so inclined in ALFA 1 BG/IWD. Roleplay and simulation, creating fun for your fellow players and opportunities for interaction - sounds a little better than complaining about generous and obliging policies / crying for a DM to set you up, maybe?

I'm sure my pocket existentialism is tiresome, but true freedom is only experienced against the obstacles in the world.

Cheers,

that's two.

However by no means these are two that agree on anything. Actually each of them is extremely stubborn in his own way, criticizing the middle ground which ALFA repeatedly. This is simply an example on how to do math. enjoy!

This thread is longer than it has to be :)
pragmatic (adj.)
The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.

Yeah I think it ran its course, policy posted, PA and DMA both chimed in, others happy about "hey this is creating fun", so whatever, question answered, moving along with no further need for dogpiling.
