The real question, for me, is would I have gotten the same early warning and advice if my character was being investigated? Would Rusty's?
If not, then we have blatant playing of favourites at an admin level. Something I'm not sure I would be too happy with.

You do know this thread is about Jayde, right? The man is made entirely out of cuddles and good will. (I checked -- his doctor has no clue wtf to do with the man when he gets sick... I mean... what do you do when a cuddle's inflamed or infected? You scratch your head and say "I don't know." that's what.)

I'm kind of with Mikayla here. Sort of. My memory may be a bit off here, but I vaguely remember Jayde twinking FI when he was a DM and she was a player on WD. There was no charge and nothing was proven as such, but it was pretty blatant nonetheless. However, it was also quite a long time ago and he has since said that he has improved, which I think is fair enough.
At this point, I think Jayde is probably our best option. Even if a bit of favouritism happens behind the scenes between himself and FI, our other options include someone who is apparently running as a joke, someone who was DMA before had some sort of nervous breakdown, abused an entire server and quit and one of ALFA's biggest powergamers, who shouts and screams and throws tantrums whenever someone tries to punish him.

Your memory is not off. The investigation was just starting when FI's toon either died or was retired, thus mooting the investigation.

And mik, you're right. Being informed of facts on topics of relevence to an admin election is good. That Jayde may have been imperfect during his years here does not strike me as Earth-shattering. My opinion is that the good Jayde would do would vastly outweigh the bad. He's trying to do the right thing and overall is doing a pretty good job of it.

While I've had my own small issues with Mike over the years I do want to make something clear. The lengths some people in Admin at the time went to in the effort to "Punish" aka (kill off) Hignar was socking and unfair. I know from personal chats with Murky at the time that he was being squeezed that he was becoming frustrated over what to do about the threats of having SD taken away or parts of his server pulled if he didn't do what he was told to do and dispose of Hignar.
Those conversations happened long, long before the mess grew into a major issue that later exploded publicly with all sorts of finger pointing and scape-goating. Given the abuse of power, Mike's very loud concerns were entirely justified so I would sincerely hope this election "issue" could be put to bed once and for all. In turn, I've told Mike directly that further mention of Hignar or his past situation would bring no benefit. There should be a lesson learned that due process as well as checks & balances are needed to maintain a sense of fairness for all, no matter what side of the DM screen your on.
