Level 4.

Had one PC last up to 10 for about a year and a half worth's of playing.

The rest never lived past one or two but that's when I was learning the ropes.

Level 11. Made mid March-Early April 2004.

Was out of school for about 10 months, so played about 70hrs/week, possibly 80, for a while. Then played more then I should have been when I re-enrolled, about 40hr/week. :?

EDIT: Much of that time was spent just chatting with people and exploring...PC isn't very conducive to questing.

Aye, it does seem pretty even. But I'm willing to bet that the majority of people who do not frequent this forum tend to be more low levels than high.

It's much more even than I expected so far. Logically, you would expect a somewhat steady decline in numbers the higher the level but that's not really happening is it?

Are the lowest levels not on the Forums or have survival rates reduced deaths to such an extent that there's now more higher levels than lower walking around?

Wynna's number suggested about 400 check out ALFA Forums during a 1 month span so I wonder how many of those visit at least once a week on average? The next day or two should give us a better idea but no matter what, I find the results very interesting.

Hmm... yes. To answer the actaul question, I've currently got a 3 (4?) month old paladin hin at 1st level.

Before that went through about 6 level 1s in the space of a week, getting bored with them all.

Before that, had a PC getting all the way to... level 5  :o

Then about 3 who made it to level 2!

And last of all, about 1.5 years worth of level 1s.

ALFA has been live a long time now, those 10+ level PCs have been around for a while. It makes sense to me that as the project goes on the average level will creep up.

This would be true if those Level 10+ players were all quite old (I assume they are)and if the number of new players has actually been decreasing over time. If our player base had been steady or growing I would have expected the biggest clump of players to be in the level 1-4 range to represent flesh blood.

Still too early to say for sure though...

27 month old level 14 druid. I hit level 10 on St.Patrick's day, 2004, so it has taken almost a year and a half to go up four levels.

The four characters before her lasted scant days an averaged level two, but that was right after live, and we were all of us n00bs together.
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.~~Groucho Marx

:) This is the ALFA I have come to love. Nice, slow level advancements.
