1) In regards to major plot threads, how would you go about managing that and/or what type of platform to deliver the story through (i.e. static quests, DM run questing or push for a campaign/adventure server link through server portals [[btw seamless portal testing is going very well]]) etc etc.
Honestly can't say. While I'd obviously prefer dm interaction along with large number of players, I can't force dms into quests they don't want to do, I don't have enough time to dm everything, nor would I really want to, and as there isn't much of a real plot idea yet, just some vague concepts flitting around in my brain, I can't speak on how I'd like them to be implemented.
All I can say for sure is I'd like it to be far reaching, have an effect on every ALFA pc(maybe not directly) and a chance for the players to change an aspect of Faerun in one way or another.

Neither. Undying love.

Sounds good, it's a worthwhile goal and I support the concept and would recommend the Thieves world series as a template for collaboration between DM groups(series is decent and I enjoyed the first 12 or so, I always thought it was a neat way to handle fantasy world plot lines with a group of writers, basically they used each others main characters as minor characters in their own stories, never killing or changing them significantly, only the original owner of the character was allowed to do that).

Thank you for your time.

Cheers!

Hey

Regarding this issue, basically i'm not up for faster advancement rate, but wanted to ask what creative ways you would like to promote to balance the advancement rate / wealth gain between players who get regular DM sessions to players who never see DM.

(That is , not something like changing the rate of RPXP that everyone will be effected)

Thanks.

I can't. The primary method for xp and wealth gain should be through dmed sessions, and in my opinion trying to balance that with static quests and scripts would devalue those dmed sessions, not to mention more work for a tech team that is already worked to the bone.

You could always watch Euro players for any you think would be good DMs, then recommend them to the HDM of a server (or simply direct to DMA)

You can't just recommend someone to be a dm. They have to want to be one, and once they have even wanted to start to be one they have to be willing to put forth an inordinate amount of work, effort and skill into maintaining what is very often not fully appreciated by those who have not dmed before for a long term basis.

Sadly it also takes more then just desire to be a dm as well.

I think its fair to say a fair number of people might consider it if someone asked them to, it shows that they're wanted and appreciated.... people skills :D

Thanks for running Ven, and thanks for expressing your idea of two PCs - one surface, one underdark. I know this is an idea that the old NU team threw around for a long time. It just makes sense.

Even though this is just a possibility rather than an absolute, it has given me a new surge of energy to continue building Skullport. I hope you can make this work.

Now for my question (since this is a question thread). Do you believe that you can convince ALFA to change its 1 PC rule to your proposed plan of one surface and one underdark PC? In the past, this idea was always responded to with a simple but emphatic "No" (and an ensuing flame war of how drow suck and are overpowered). Why do you think things will be different this time around?

Yes. Apparently ALFA now has a majority that wants more then 1 pc. Furthermore, this is a very specific set of circumstances that allows 2 pcs. The reason only 1 pc is to prevent metagaming, but between an underdark server and surface servers, there is little transfer between the two so very little if any chance of metagaming. And those who want to have a pc who regularly goes between the Underdark and the Surface can play that one pc, giving up their second slot.

Vendrin, I think you are a dirty njub. Do you think you can be an effective PA despite my quantifiable, and factual, opinion?

Also drow ninjas or drow pirates?

Well I suppose if you think so I better just give up now.... oh wait, everyone's a dirty njub in your eyes, so I suppose I'll just have to soldier on.
