It is a valid point.

We used to have a lot more NWN1 servers, but as NWN1 player numbers declined, one by one they shut down until we were left with the ones we have now.

However, as Indio points out, most builders are not building to order, they are building because they want to.

Hopefully, the more NWN2 content we get, the more NWN2 players we will attract. But only if every server that goes line has an adequate supply of DMs to ensure the players that come to check us out get a decent game.

SO, we do NOT want to go live with more servers than we can realistically staff, or many new players will find themselves in the twilight zone.

I enjoy building the Moonsea, playing holds limited appeal and DMing holds no appeal for me until it is done.

I'm not going to race it out however, I've got too much RL stuff going on to stress myself getting the server live. We will probably have our beta up in a couple months, toolset willing.

I have a good number of contributors so if people aren't happy with the pace, feel free to find me a new HDM who can commit more to the role than I.

Players will be happy to know that I am currently mapping out about a hundred statics to start with to tie into the acr quest system. Not all statics will be available to all players as they will be tied in with a faction and reputation system. Skill checks will be required on a majority of quests and all statics will be supportive of roleplay.
On indefinite real life hiatus

[22:52] <Veilan> obviously something sinister must be afoot if a DM does not have his social security number in his avatar name!

A very healthy approach for long term success....Thank you for your efforts! :)

Yes, we should be doing more. The PR team is actively trying to update the website and otherwise try to get new players to come to ALFA and stay in ALFA long enough to really become part of the community.

This is a good place, it's got good rules that keep us on track and doing the thing we all like doing the most: nerding out playing D&D on the computer. We just need to get more people to know about it.

Hop over to the PR forums, contribute to some PR project or even join the PR team!
Currently laying the smackdown on Faerun as: Keryn Tel'Jora, who is XXX-TREME!!!.
Currently explaining the meaninglessness of it all as Vizian Nazyr.
Currently pointing out all other characters' shortcomings as Stephen the Archer.
