This is the worst news we have had in years here - I don't even know what to say. Please send our prayers and thoughts to viigas & his wife. I am very glad they are alive at least and hope they make as much of a recovery as possible.

I think I'ver been DMed once by Viigas for perhaps an hr...doesn't matter..You and your wife are Humans, no one should ever be treated this way. I want to say the fact that you even think about and want to participate in alfa is amazing with all that is on your plate now. I will say this and I think we have a lot of great people that will agree..If it is your wish to play with Dwarves in any way..I think people here will find a way to play with you..even if it were to be round by round text style play..The RP is the thing..and everyone whom loves Dwarves says your Knowlede and RP of them is second to none. I've never siogned on for Dwarf only or Elf Only campaigns..but if it would help bring you happiness..set the style and flavor you feel you can still take part in and I'll play with ya.

This doesn't get less surreal with rereading. I don't think I can accurately put my feelings into words. I want to do something to help as best I can from 3000+ miles away. Can we set up something to donate to Viigas and Lena? Can I send food or something? Can someone send me his address so at the very very least I can bake cookies and overnight them to Sweden? I feel like I want to do something. Anything.

I played with Viigas when he was Bital back in NWN1 days. Daramir was my PC.

I have re-read the postings above a half dozen times or so, it's hard to work today, trying to be "mr. happy teacher" for 16 screaming 8-9 year olds is very tough today. Not that that matters even an iota. This is about our support for Viigas and his wife. We love you man.

Sir, you give life to words and phrases like strength and indomitable spirit. Your story should not be kept from others who would gain so much if they were exposed to your ordeal. To put it in nerdy gamer terms, the very best of noble dwarven traits are but a pale shadow of your example.

I can not help but to be a better person for what you have shared.

This is the most disturbing thing I've heard in a long while...I can't believe something like this could happen to a friend, and such a warm and good hearted person as Viigas. As a dwarf player I have played a lot with Viigas as DM, and as every member of the Glen Guard could attest, ale was plenty, adventure everywhere at hand and Bital not to be trifled with! It's going to take a long time to process this. And to think it happened in my home country, little Sweden no less. Saddening beyond words. Still, it sounds like the spirit of Bital is with him, and that he is rising to a challenge few of us will ever have to face. May life for him and Lena continue to improve from here on!
