Y'all given any thought to NWO? You probably have, and I am probably barking up a tree thats already been cut down and turned into timber. But thats how I ended up running into the old-timers who prompted me to come back here - it was a Facebook group for a Menzoberranzan group that is gearing up for NWO and working NWO's "Foundry" folks in developing quests, areas, things like that. I dunno if its even viable - I haven't played it, but it seems to have given their project some life. *shrugs*
Anyway, roll up a PC or go? Really, my first day back on the forums and you're already telling me to scram? Not surprising, nothings really changed, but that was kind of fast. I usually don't wear out my welcome until the second day.
I can't promise to roll up a PC, but todays forum posts did prompt a call from one of my old comrades-in-arms, so regardless, its been fun saying hi to everyone again.

Myk, quit posting and roll up a PC or I shall kill one Drow every single day. In front of PCs. So they can laugh.
And it will be at the hands of a gnome to add insult to injury.

GF: Little did you know, but you became an NPC in my on-going pen-n-paper D&D game. I'm glad the fundamental characteristics remain. I had actually thought about DMing again since it eliminates the PC issue, but nobody ever got back to me when I applied and I stopped caring.
One of my current Korean coworkers uses the English name Mikaela, the first time I've encountered that name in real life, and I've tried not to make any drow jokes and get stared at.
@GF: Well, you probably would get stared at - Mikayla/Mikaela is a real-world name, not a drow name. When I filled my application for ALFA, way back in like, what, 2003? I switched where I was supposed to put my real life name (Mikayla) and my D&D name (Chalithra) so I ended up with the forum name Mikayla, and by the time I figured out what I'd done wrong and how to fix it, I'd already posted and gotten known a little bit so I just went with my real name. Alas. It does look like a drow name though doesn't it? I have two cousins, also named Mikayla, though they spell it differently - the oldest one spells it Michaela, and the younger one spells it Makayla, but all of us pronounce it the same.
Anyway, I just got off the phone with an ALFAn who tried very hard to convince me to play, so I am going to install NWN2 (from Steam I think) and see if I can get motivated to actually play - no promises though. If you thought I was a flake 5 years ago, you ain't seen nothin' yet.

P.S. They really should let you DM - if you're cool enough to be an NPC in my pen-n-paper game (and one that is still alive after 5 years of us playing) you must be cool enough to DM in ALFA. So sayeth me. Hmmph.

I had a similar thing happen a few years ago; asked about it again end of last year and... here I am, murdering PCs with Drowz. Come join usss.

Gnomes ... killing drowz ... that is just ... so ... wrong. Even the stilted, brain-dead, congenitally-defective brand managers at WotC recognized that gnome v. drow always equals dead gnome - thus the destruction of Blindingstone at the hands of the Menzoberranyr. To even suggest that you would kill drowz with gnomz should cause an immediate and irrevocable ... revocation ... of your DM license. So there.

Pwned. Come on, y'all just roll PCs so I don't make NPC gnomes kill Drowz. Now that's plain wrong.
Plus Greengrass is coming up; a good time to jump in.

Killing NPC drowz doesn't count - they've been made into fodder by DMs for years. No gnome ever killed a member of my warband or murder-team back in the day, but we CvC'd a few of everyone over the years .. until it got too litigious - every kill turned into a PA lawsuit. C'est la vie.
Anyway, as I mentioned earlier, I am DL'ing NWN2 from Steam. Thats as committed as I can get right now.
Stoopid extortion.

Hahahahah.
Oh, you guys. Thank you.
Oh, I'm not through with you yet, GF. Not by a long shot. I will get you back in game if I have to send Dennis Rodman to pay you a visit.
Seriously ... you are 13 hours ahead of US EST. Your weekday evenings are my early mornings. That is exactly when Thorin is DMing the elite-veteran-noobs that started this wandering thread. Think Duck One style. Level doesn't really matter. Think on it.
We would love to see you, Myk and so many others back. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that you guys pop in and share your wit on the fora (really, I do, sarcasm aside there!), but it would be so much better to see you in-game.

Yeah by all means, I'm very apt to DM you under dark lovers. I do know a few peeps including Jkin are interested in getting some underdark content. I know over on TSM we have quite a bit already. Always room for people!
