These are awesome...

Gave me a super idea.

I was about to start an "After School Weekly D&D Activity" group at the school I currently work for, for grade 5 and grade 6 kids.

Get them to write PC backgrounds and hisotries, draw PC portraits, develop personalities, etc. Role play a bit. Story write, etc.

I was looking around for my PATHFINDER books....

But these kids are barely concious at the best of times, they don't know what 1st/2nd/3rd ed./Pathfinder is....

NOW I think I will use 1ST EDITION D&D rule books. :P ((Advanced Dungeons & Dragons PHB, DMG, MM1))

How fun will that be.

It's only 1.5 hours a week... not hard to plan an adventure each week that lasts 1 hour. Usually that's just one combat.

Cool.

As an aside, the following book was my FAVOURITE read back in the day... took it on bus rides. Frigging loved it. Gotta get it again.

AD&D is not the first edition of D&D ;)

It's the first one I played but there was one before (Red Box or something like that).

I have bookmarked that link.
Thanks Curm for pointing it.

Yes big H, I know. :)

Was just blabbering on... Who listens to me anywAy? :)

RPGS is it? ;-)

I played long term PnP in every "D&D" edition from yer red box, to pink box, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3.5, PF, 4th (just read the books but i swear I never swallowed-- looked terrible) not to mention literally dozens of Paladium Systems (TMNT, Ninjas and Superspies [awesome btw], Paladium Fantasy, RIFTS, Heroes Unlimited, and while we're at it... Gamma world, Shadowrun, Warhammer Fantasy, WH 40K, Call of Chuthullu, Dark Heresy, GURPS, hell the lads and I even played that "Clay-mation" RPG Table-top game a few times... Warhammer Fantasy Battles (I painted an Orcs+Goblins Army ...and a few months ago bought a huge 'Tomb Kings' army... Started painting them but then moved to China... New country, new job... Too busy to paint with ALFA as top priority)...

All my best friends (we all turn 40 in 2013), are still meeting every 2 weeks for campaigns. Broke my heart when I left the west 11 years ago, but I'll get back there someday.

They're are starting a brand new PF Campain this weekend and we're going to "try" to hook me up through SKYPE to actually join the campaign, lol ....might be solid or just might be too awkward and hard to participate. Worth a shot we think. :)

YMMV but IME VoIP games only work when everyone is on VoIP.
