Playing Sunite clergy twins opposite Dm Swift. We had so much fun we forgot about the players.

We need more threads like this one.
Bravo Rumple and everyone.
Not just so we can wax nostalgic and grumble about the present, but to remind ourselves what it's about, and to continue to play for such moments as our main motivation.

The Chase was awesomely fun each year Swift
And Mick, it was a pleasure playing with you and Arana... I especially remember that creepy "dream" scene of Loxy's with the young girl and Arana. Any chance you can coerce Arana back?
I fondly remember hitting ProjectDeviant's Allendroth with a lightning bolt after Elminster caught him bathing in his pool. It's the little things... Like having Lua crush on poor Ronan's Valdur.
I remember Aaron Aaldsman player-dming a story for a bunch of us new players by using his pixie familiar to draw us to help his mage pc in order to fill in a long absence of his PC's. I was really blown away by the limitless creativity and incredible patience I saw by such things in Alfa. You could say it moulded me into the player I am today.

Re: Favourite ALFA/Other moments?
ALFA 1 having Bane come down and kill my very first toon... ala BOOM. Then scaring the shit out of everyone else with Shae.... I loved playing with Voran, Lafter, Evro, Riot, Witch, Dar, Jaokith, Ksiel (you all know who you are). Were fun times and much adventure to be had. I cant think of a single night that was better then the others, because there were never a shortage of awesome DMS and awesome players and awesome servers...
As an HDM I think my fave moment was Solgen and Mshadey hunting after my precious xurshin... lvl 20 clerics bring all kinds of crazy with them... Even those damn lonelywood elves were awesome. Mykayla going from lolth to eliestree and back again was much fun...
ALFA 2 sadly has not had so many nifty moments for me... i have enjoyed the depth of some of the newer people i have played with... JLM always made me giggle when i terrorized him with my Umberlant. JMecha always being a blonde swashy bard o.O always fun to rp with. there are others and you all know who you are but this is already too wordy for me...
Bet you thought i was going to end this without mentioning Rumple... The mostest awesomest half orc ever... enough said.

ALFA 2 Favourite moments (that I remember).
Getting mugged by a shady balduran (after my hin failed his intimidate roll) as Kid watched on (and stabilized the 0xp pc).
Meeting the host of folk who call BG home, and learning their dark and dirty secrets.
Seeing old buddies from ALFA1, and meeting new ones from ALFA2.
Being able to slip into a new Campaign for the old oceania group as DM'd by Kid. Plenty of unexpected journeys!
Jessels discoveries of "life".

Re: Favourite ALFA/Other moments?
Good god, some of these stories bring back memories. So many epic times. I've been playing and dm'ing in alfa since before beta for nwn1 and there's no way in hell i could pick one favorite moment. There's a crapload of pure awesomesauce moments, like roaming from one end of Loudwater to the other while the war was raging, all alone depending entirely on stealth to stay alive, with Evro looking on and making things interesting. Like accidentally wandering into a black dragon's lair under some kobold caves, making 3 dc 25 will saves in a row (my will save at the time was 6, fyi) and running terrified through pitch black caves while trying to avoid breath attacks until I lucked into a tunnel it was too small to follow me into. Like the House of Stone in Daggerford (which is one of the only Alfa 1 tales of mine that still exists in the library, I'll go find it later and add a link here - here it is). Like playing with Twisted Ascension and having his Sharran cleric/mage try to set up my back alley thug (his offsider) as a lord in the borderlands (alas, deadly fire traps put an end to that).
But first and foremost would have to be from an early PC of mine, Malek Kheldressan. Warrior/mage from the Vast Swamp who somehow ended up getting involved with some treehugging hippies in Daggerdale. From introductions with Babras (and promptly getting chewed on by a direwolf), to battling Zhentarim incursions and ghostly mages, and finally making and end that'd have Tempus smile against demonic forces, was never a dull moment. One standout moment would have to be the confrontation with Belisarius, a mage of some power who'd taken over the old Constable's Tower.
There must have been about 18 of us heading in there, levels varying from 2 to 14, myself being 9 at the time and the biggest tank in the group (not promising). First thing we encounter are some undead warriors, nasty in a group but nothing we couldn't brush aside quickly with a poorly organised lynch mob. Then we hit the serious opposition, two stone golems. This fight wasn't going particularly well (what kind of mage stoneskins his guardians, honestly, you'd think he had brains or something), but we managed to get past them after a nasty fight that left 2 of us dead. Pushing on, we faced a veritable army of skeletons of varying nastiness, from the frown-and-they-crumble-to-dust variety to the sort that give Daramir trouble.
**Now, one salient little fact that should be made clear is what kind of weapon I was using. I had an enchanted longsword with a bit of a history to it, and it was the sort of thing you only used when you really, really needed a magical weapon, because it had an ac penalty on it (horrifying in those days when ac bonuses were actually pretty rare). It did however have an unusual little feature called mighty crits, which normally would be a horrid tradeoff, but more on that later.**
Pushing into the army of undead (literally an army, I stopped counting at 40 and there were way more crowding the room that couldn't reach us) we spotted the mage himself, and true to Tempus Malek decided to make a beeline for him and to hell with anything else. When he cast his first chain lightning, I fully expected that this would be it for Malek. When the Prismatic waves started streaming past, I figured I wouldn't be alone in the morgue. When the Wail of the Banshee went off, while being grateful to his cleric friend for the Death Ward, I knew we were all fooked. We were fighting a mage with level 9 spells.
Much to my surprise, Malek actually survived to reach melee range with a fair portion of HP left. Said what the hell, started wailing on Belisarius and sure enough, Premonition. "Ah well, was a good effort" I thought, blew my last haste pot and decided to go down swinging. Next hit was a crit, and thanks to all the buffs on, I actually did a bit of damage to the mage over and above the Premonition. 2nd attack in the round was also a crit, and so was EVERY attack for the next 4 rounds. Every single attack. With Mighty Crits on my horrible sword that I hardly ever used but wouldn't dump for rp history with it. Belisarius' Premonition was gone in 3 rounds, he went in the 4th. Dead mage. Dead 17th level mage.
I couldn't believe it, and promptly finished off the remaining skeletons with help from my cleric friend (who'd done most of the work on those). Turned around to the rest of the group about to give the most FUCK YEAH victory yell ever, and just stopped. There were 4 people left standing. Out of the 16 remaining, out of the 18 who entered. I'd never felt such a mix of elation and horror at at the same time, and I'm hard pressed to think of any single event that matches it since.
So goddam many awesome moments, so little forum space.

Re: Favourite ALFA/Other moments?
The last scene of the Red Death adventure. People puking out rp in massive amounts where I could see every character as a unique snowflake. While I did my legal darn best to kill them. It was awesome.
"Littla wild flowa?"
"Brother, is that you?"
Mmm... The lord of murder will return, and in time, even death can be killed...

The time Garlus was witnessing dragon vrs dragon battle via Wynna quest, and Berendil shot a black dragon and aggroed it to the group, spraying acid all of the way. Epic.

Re: Favourite ALFA/Other moments?
Oh, another one.
Two months after I joined, getting a +1 amulet when I was level 3.
This may not sound very epic, but at the time, there was very strict restrictions on when characters should see magic items. +1 items were not supposed to be rewarded before a character had reached level 5. I felt tops, but also worried the DM would get in trouble.
Then like, a week later the quake happened and the DM never came back.
But I was still pimpin!
