anyone who remembers Northern Cormyr in ALFA1 knows that more than one inn was invaded, several times PCs were wailed on by toughs and a couple of inns burnt down in fact I'm pretty sure I burned down Amy's three times.. good times..

I think everyone on my last "Demon stone" adventure was all too aware that death was a moment away. I actually had to bring an extra DM in to herd the Balors so there wasn't a party wipe. And Gruu has never been on fire so much in her life.

One day if life ever gets quiet, maybe I'll subject some more unwitting PC's to ElCads DM love.

[Edit] The only problem I found is that you can't take players very far down the rabbit hole, because they want to be back to the tavern by the end of the session, so they can spawncamp for a week until the next DM session! What would be great is to get them so far removed from support that they are out of supplies, potions and totally reliant on each other and fate.
