lol I always though Trid was newer because he's so young and spry looking.
I'm an OAS beyatch, I think one of the first batch, so please ignore my ramblings.

Re: Longest Standing ALFAN?
Trid created the very first ALFA website.
The one I used to send my application back in december 2003 or maybe the one before that (not sure now).

Re: Longest Standing ALFAN?
Stoked to see Mother back creeping around the site! He built an awesome server way back when. I miss all the old crew. Can't remember the name of the server, but it covered a swamp near Cormyr and was my intro to ALFA. Great times.
Re: Longest Standing ALFAN?
I forgot about that server, it was awesome. I remember the first time I took Kemeras out for a bit of a server stroll. Hit some Zombies in the swamp and night and turned right around and ran back to DDHialmar wrote:The Vast Swamp

Forum Handle: Kemeras
Current Server: Baldur's Gate
Current Character: Ariel Grinder (Fighter 1)

The Vast Swamp was one of ALFA's first servers back when the project went Live in 2004. If I recall correctly it left the project in the first big management upheaval after Live. Alas, I never got to see it, though I heard wonderful things about it. I hope someone has screenshots.ElCadaver wrote:The vast swamp must have been before my time... please post some pics!

Just so you guys know I banned management upheavals...they effect my delicate constitution.

Ah, TVS. Where the kobolds were feared, corpse farming was a way of life, and you never, ever ignored your scouts (well, not more than once).
Good times.
Good times.

Re: Longest Standing ALFAN?
If anyone else can remember the deputy lead of the project being kicked out for fixing the result of a poll then they're as long standing as me
And yes, the poll did involve J'Kin.

Re: Longest Standing ALFAN?
Actually ALFA went live in april 2002, and TVS was one of the first back then. It was around for quite a while, even after the quake, which happened in December 2004.
Over all the best server ALFA has ever had IMO,- it had quite a big (the biggest ?) amt of regular players and DM's for years, and housed many of the legendary characters people still talk about today. Kill has a much better memory than me in terms of actual names though.

Re: Longest Standing ALFAN?
Was it really there after the Quake ?
Then maybe I visited it OOCly when the servers were vault-less.
I can't remember well. Damn old age forgetting

Re: Longest Standing ALFAN?
I think so, now that you ask though i'm not 100% sure. It may have been gone for a while and got updated and put back up or something like that, It's a long time ago for sure

Re: Longest Standing ALFAN?
I joined October 2004, and the Quake was already history by then (as was TVS).
Re: Longest Standing ALFAN?
Ah, my mistake, it was December 2003, it seems our new (current) forums got up in January 2004.
So apparently ALFA was just live for a year and a half before the quake.
