I'll miss him. I enjoyed playing and talking with him, and am grateful for the advice he has given me in the past.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and the rest of Whitey's loved ones. I'll miss him tremendously, and I just knew him through an online community. I can only imagine how much more interesting my real life would be if it had included Whitey, and how terrible such a loss would be, especially at such a young age.

Whitey indeed had all the traits you mentioned in your post, and contributed a great deal of creative energy to making ALFA what it is today. When he wasn't playing or creating graphics (or no doubt making many other contributions I could only begin to imagine), he was posting in the forums; grabbing ALFA by the shoulders and shaking the hell out of it, then setting it down and waiting to see what happened. He was a force of nature, and no-one could fill his shoes.

Thanks for taking the time to post here and let us know. That he made it a point to let you know to do so speaks volumes about what he thought of us, and I find that deeply moving.

A Land Far Away feels a great deal farther away to me, but I'm certain he's there now and having one hell of a game.

Thanks for all of it Whitey, you'll be truly missed.
Currently laying the smackdown on Faerun as: Keryn Tel'Jora, who is XXX-TREME!!!.
Currently explaining the meaninglessness of it all as Vizian Nazyr.
Currently pointing out all other characters' shortcomings as Stephen the Archer.

My condolences to you and your family Ricardo.

I'm a little bit too shocked to say much right now but I have always enjoyed his presence in our little community.

Thanks Roy.

Is this real?

All families WW was part of will grieve. ALFA will surely be one. What a loss. Intelligent, loquacious, inspired...he is a name, a presence and contributor I will miss. I've been reading his name and words for 6 years. My deepest condolences to his immeidate family, and to any extended families like us, who get no more chances to share his elaborate, intricate and wonderful thoughts.

Terrible news. I may not have gotten into many sparring matches with WW over D&D or political issues, but his passion for his positions certainly came through his writing loud and clear... great talent in that regard.

Condolences for his family's loss, then, with the knowledge his absence here will be strongly felt as well.

This is bemusing and saddening. I don't have the right words to voice how much this sucks. Very sorry for your loss.

I thank you for the words. I could not read all before I had tears. His passing is starting to catch up to me but I need to finish his requests. A demsen and a bartleby(sp?) Roy left some archive file for you he wanted you to have. Please send email to itsallquanta@gmail.com to receive file. Morbid kate, Roy says sorry. I do not know what that is about but maybe you do and can tell me. Others please do not email

 Is this real? Has his account been hacked? Are we speaking figuratively here? I'm having a hard time believing that anyone on their death bed would request a farewell post on an anonymous Internet forum. That hardly seems important at such a juncture.

If he really has passed away, my sincerest condolences to you and your family. May you rest in peace, Roy.

That was certainly my first thought too, and the speed of the post is staggering. Normally such a thing would take a week or more, if ever, as it's a nonexistent priority for family members. But then again we are talking about WW. For anyone else I would assume it was a hoax. For him, it makes sense. ALFA was his second family in many ways, IMO.

Rest well friend.

I'll always remember you.

Condolences to Ricardo and the family.

I cannot say more as I'm too moved by this very very sad news.

PS: Ricardo posted both here and on Exodus. There is little chances that both accounts were hacked so sadly, very sadly this seems true :(
