... obviously I'm reccomending a revision on part 3. Seems a bit Spartan, y'know?

this is an example of exactly what i was talking about... fallacious reasoning. I did not state alfa is 'full of people' with fallacious reasoning. Claiming such were my words, or even the intentions of my words, does not make it so, except for the purposes of creating a "WIN" argument (the reason 'why' some people tend to use fallacious reasoning). Also included in your above statement is a personal attack. I.e., ad hominem, i.e., a form of fallacious reasoning. Simply stated, you took a logically presented post and by use of fallacious reasoning, turned it into, "me attacking this community."Mulu wrote: BTW, implying ALFA is full of people with fallacious reasoning is an attack on the whole community, in violation of the Charter on Conduct. It's something you seem to do a lot. Of course, it doesn't get moderated as long as it comes from you, so fire away at will. *shrugs*
Seeing as this, and many other issues, seem to once again return to, "just how long contributors are going to be willing to stay in this community whilst this abuse continues" has sort of been pushed a bit further for me with inappropriate moderator activity, both public and private.
And thus the argument of ALFA has evolved another step.

Is asking people to keep the criticism constructive and the discussion productive (or at least entertaining) that much to ask?
*: these statements are replaceable by assaults on the other person's grammar as well

I would like to pick peoples brains once in a while. Sometimes I feel like they're coming out of left field or. . . right field. Aww Hell - screw the field; they seem to be staggering out of a circus fair ground while drunk and semi-concious.
White_Warlock. . . you WANTED moderation. What exactly do you want out of moderation? Do you want moderation that's tailor made to suit you? Or do you want it to be for everyone?
Second. This isn't an ad hominem attack; because you in the past have been quite indignant, indeed, trolling against your fellow ALFAns. One of my issues with this, is that, I don't really know if it was intentional, in that, you might not be fully aware that you were doing it. (scary thought.)
Anyway, unmoderated or moderated. Take your pick.

I think everyone would like to grow as a person. So, I would like to apologize to you Mulu for attacking you pretty personally in those past threads. Its a long overdue apology, and maybe to little to late, but I'm sorry for it.

Off topic a bit?
Does anyone have any suggestions for the Moderation process they would like Admin to have a look at?
At least two Admin's have already said they are not looking to change anything, especially since its so new. I tend to agree that nothing should be changed until everything settles down.
I see nothing wrong with posting suggestions of ways that you would like to see it changed, this just helps communication, unless you go about it in a negative fashion.
If not I would suggest a lock.

I would suggest stop making post after post about moderation and learn to live within the system. Its working. If people are chaffing at it its because they were testing its limits and getting rebuked. Its been quiet lately. Im glad to see that. Let the issue drop and lets get back to trying to make this place better. We have a whole lot more things to deal with besides this issue.

Just because it has gotten quiet doesn't mean the system has magically gotten better, it is still the same deeply flawed system that we were up in arms about last weekLusipher wrote:I would suggest stop making post after post about moderation and learn to live within the system. Its still the system you better learn to deal with. Im sure it will get tweaked as needed, but it aint going away.Just because it has gotten quiet doesn't mean the system has magically gotten better, it is still the same deeply flawed system that we were up in arms about last week

Since this thread seems to be on its way out as well, I would like to use its last remaining bit of life for an unrelated question (to the topic)...
Recycled Thread = new topic
new topic = Level Validation requirements... I am compiling DM "standards" information, I can't seem to find anything for the Level Validation requirements... if someone knows where this is can they please post a link?
thanks.
P.S. I would have used IRC but I am at work, not working, but I can't do IRC at work. I don't see the usefulness of starting a whole thread for a simple question.
