If you take starting stats below 10, make sure to role-play those stats. Examples:
Low STR: Cannot carry much, cannot swing heavy weapons, draw longbows or composite longbows, or wear heavy armor.
Low CON: Tire out quickly, almost always suffering from some kind of illness such as a cold.
Low DEX: Clumsy, bump into things a lot, trip up, dance poorly.
Low WIS: Neurotic, not quite in touch with reality. A little crazy, blames things on conspiracies, superstitious. Unable to reason out or piece together information. No common sense.
Low INT: Difficulty learning, speech impediments (slurring, stuttering, poor grammar). Unable to apply information to a given task or understand information.
Low CHA: Unable to persuade others, anti-social, word things harshly, likely to unintentionally offend someone with what you say. Poor communicator or ineffective leader.

Guide for new players?
this was on another PW guide i saw. could something like it be useful for new players to see?

So is this an advice thread?
- When doing skill checks, it is better to emote your actions after the roll instead of before - this way, your emote does not conflict with the results of the roll.
You can use italics and bold in chat by typing <i> or <b>. Italics as emotes make for a clean-looking replacement to asterisks, while bold is appropriate for emphasis on words. It is best to add these at the end of a sentence - otherwise you will need to close the tag.

An intelligence of 8 should be equivalent to an 80 IQ. This is standard football player / cheerleader range, hardly cognitively disabled, though certainly slow to learn and not capable of understanding very complex ideas, i.e. higher math.
But yeah, we've been over this a hundred times.

What is Halaster Blackcloak's wisdom score?
“In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.” - Open Message to the Executive Branch.

So low wisdom doesn't necessarily mean crazy. It would probably mean forgetful and an inability to piece together information.
This guide has some errors. I am willing to bet if ALFAn's put together their own guide a lot of these poor sterotypes associated with scores would be thrown out the window.

k then
i would have benefitted from something clear like this to avoid my first char years ago (as a DnD and RP newb) with a low int/wis stat score but sounding like a highly educated person
but as it's too hard...
scrap it
people should consider the difference between a 'guide' and a 'rule' however as auseful means of getting accross a point without being prescriptive
