011 gets green light

Post by Teric neDhalir »

Hello everyone,
I am delighted to tell you that following the successful launch of the OAS and imminent Live status of TSM I can join Ayergo as proud HDM of a new Beta server, 011 The Western Heartlands. I am taking the area of Soubar and the High Moor from the OAS and expanding it into a full Live server. This means hanging onto most of the settled areas and interiors and revamping the exteriors as scaled travel areas. As it stands the mod covers an area with a baseline of Soubar to Dragonspear Castle and covering the entire High Moor up to Highstar Lake. This is the equivalent of 24 seamless 32x32 areas at "full" scale. Enough to start with for exploration, and hugely more efficient of resources.

Some random screenies of new stuff; Serpent's Cowl and the ruins of Ss'thar'tiss'ssun and the High Moor.

This means, of course, that I'm now putting out the call for help. I need DMs and buiders to put some flesh on the bones. This is not a toolsetting gig (unless you're happy with that), it's a writing D&D gig. So if you fancy getting involved send me a PM.
See you all in the Heartlands,
Teric

Teric is a powerhouse builder, a veritable darkhorse in our midst. Excellent news to see you take on this region mate. Good luck.

I like the courage of doing scenic empty landscapes, where I bet you'd hear some people screaming "more detail! more detail!" while it actually seems compelling as is, if you let the mood take you into it.

Nice!

Looks really nice. As Veilan I like the vast and empty feeling about the landscape.

Go for it! :-)

Congrats Teric.

On those vast spaces, the first thing that I noticed was the detail put into the gully areas. I could easily imagine squishing my way through the boggy areas. I was also very aware that a troll could be lurking over the next hill. :)

Congratulations Teric!! It looks fantastic! If I ever get my toolset skills up to par, I would love to offer any help I can.

..and I may beg for cool stuff I see in and around Soubar for the OAS ;)

Excellent! Great visuals, I love the empty landscapes too. Good doesn't mean crammed into space :)

Its nice to see WHL going to be up for NWN2 after so much frustration working with Dms who took extensive leave of absenses and left the other Dms hanging. These screens are nice, but Im really interested in seeing what you have in store for FoW and the Naga ruins all over the area. I wish you the best of luck and I hope your really stick to the canon of the area because it at one time was going to be a really fun place to play.
