New NWN2 patch (1.11) - DO NOT UPDATE YET

Post by AcadiusLost »

The new NWN2 patch is on the autoupdater. It is supposed to fix the stealth bugs, along with some MotB campaign bugs. The portrait selection interface may be added as well, not sure on that one.

They skipped the "beta" patch release this time, so I've not seen any of the details yet, other than (somewhat lengthy) lists of changed 2das and such. It will probably be a few days at least before I can get those changes rolled into new versions of the 2da hak, will probably take that opportunity to make an acr hak update as well (maybe DMFI updates to the gui hak if I somehow discover free time I didn't know I had, more likely that part will wait longer).

If you are toolsetting for a NWN2 server, carry on with your old files/haks/versions. As far as I can tell, there is nothing in this update that is to your advantage to upgrade to yet.

If you are beta testing the OAS2 or otherwise, also, do not update. The hosted module will remain at 1.010.1116 for now (and maybe for a while after we get ALFA ready for 1.11, since I'll have to work out how to manually patch the distributed dedicated server client).

I will post here with progress, and edit the topic when you are clear to update to v1.11.

(If you are not involved with ALFA NWN2 work, you can still patch ahead of the rest of ALFA, in order to get around bugs in the MotB campaign- otherwise please hold on patching until we are ready to transition.)

Thank you for your patience and attention.

Thanks for the heads-up, and for all the hours of work you put in.

The latest forum posts indicate a hotfix for 1.11 is coming, either later this week or early next, so waiting to patch would seem wise in any event.

Apparently some of the new spells slated for release with 1.12 are showing up as blank spell slots in the spellbook interface. Several people are also reporting missing skill descriptions on their character sheets.

Looks like Atari QA has done a fine job again.

If you played WoW, you would wish that is all that needed to be hotfixed after a major patch ;)

Scratch that.

If you played WoW, you would hear angels singing from heaven if that was all that needed to be hotfixed ;)

I would rate Atari Q&A somewhat higher than Blizzards at this stage, that much is certain :D

Are you implying that the ability to accidentally kill windows is the fault of someone other than Microsoft?

Well, EVE's patcher deleting the boot.ini certainly seems like a bit of a problem. :F
